Clarine’s POV
When we left the wedding venue, Tyler pulled me into a car and we sped off to anothe destination.
I watched the scenery fly by outside the window, feeling very wary. “Let’s get one thing straight: am not leaving Los Angeles.”
“And I’m definitely not going back to New York with you.”
Tyler conceded repeatedly, nodding. “Alright, alright, no problem. If you don’t want to go back t New York, I’ll stay with you in Los Angeles.”
I subtly shifted away, putting some distance between us. “Don’t you dare come any closer, or I‘ jump out of the car,” I said coldly.
He quickly put his hands up, looking incredibly cautious. “Clarine, I’ll listen to you. I absolutely won’t take another step forward.”
I finally breathed a sigh of relief only after confirming that Tyler would keep his word.
“Where are you taking me?”
Tyler smiled. “Somewhere you won’t expect. I want to make it up to you, starting with this.”
The car drove through downtown Los Angeles and finally stopped in front of a hotel in the
suburbs.
When I walked into the hotel and saw the decor, I froze on the spot.
It was a replica of the wedding from three years ago, the one Tyler had missed. Even the guests were the same ones who had been invited back then.
The guests, who had been whispering among themselves, immediately fell silent the moment they saw me appear.
The vast banquet hall was packed with people.
But at that moment, it was as quiet as death; you could practically hear a pin drop.
When Tyler entered the banquet hall, the place instantly came alive.
The guests seemed to be under some kind of threat from Tyler; the moment they saw him, they automatically got into character and started performing.
Wearing the high–end wedding dress, Hans had custom–made for me, I looked at Tyler coldly. “What is the meaning of this? You want me to marry you again? Tyler, you haven’t developed dementia this early, have you?”
I enunciated each word clearly: “We. Are. Already. Divorced.”
“I know, that’s why I’m making it up to you.”
Repeating the wedding he’d missed three years ago, what kind of compensation was that?
That wedding three years ago had been a nightmare for me!
“Tyler, do you want me to remind you what you did at the wedding three years ago? You didn’t even show up; you just pulled out a life–sized mannequin to marry me!”

“I suffered humiliation on the spot and I didn’t receive a single blessing from any elder!”
“Now you remember and you want to do it all over again and you expect me to cooperate with your performance? What kind of compensation is this?”
My emotions gradually spiraled out of control; the more I spoke, the more agitated I became. Tears streamed down my face uncontrollably.
“No, Clarine, you don’t have to walk through the wedding ceremony with me again.”
After that, Tyler pulled out a life–sized doll that looked exactly like me.
The wedding march began to play and Tyler led the doll into the hall.
I stood by the entrance, watching everything unfold coldly.
I watched him and the doll bow to each other, exchange vows and put on wedding rings.
During this time, the guests kept pointing at him, repeating the exact harsh words they had said back then.
This farce lasted for two whole hours. I watched the entire thing with no emotion whatsoever.
“Clarine, look… are you satisfied with my performance? Did I make it up to you even a little bit?” I sneered, “Tyler, I remember you tried much harder when you were trying to win Clara’s affection.”
Tyler’s face paled and he hugged me. “It’s okay, Clarine, I’ll keep trying.”
