Tyler dialed Clarine’s number again and again.
Each time, he was met with the familiar, mechanical prompt tone. “Hello, the number you have dialed is temporarily unavailable.”
Somehow, he felt a sudden panic, a strong urge to go home.
Just as he was about to step out of the hospital room, he heard Clara’s faint plea.
“Tyler, please don’t go. I know I was wrong.”
“Please don’t abandon me. I can’t live without you.”
Clara, still unconscious, looked pale, tears streaming down her face.
Tyler left with no choice but to stop and remain in the room, caring for her. It wasn’t until three days later that Clara finally woke up from her coma.
Tyler knew he had to go home. He had to return to that house eventually.
But why hadn’t Clarine contacted him at all these past three days?
He repeatedly opened their old chat logs, but no new messages existed.
He dialed her number repeatedly, yet still couldn’t reach her.
This situation had never happened before.
Although Clarine often argued with him, she would still send him messages every few days.
She used to care about him so much. Tyler felt a growing unease.
Just then, Clara received a court summons. Clarine had sued her.
‘Tyler, what should I do? My sister is furious. She, she wants to sue me!”
Clara cried, throwing herself into Tyler’s arms. “If she doesn’t drop the lawsuit, will I have to go to prison? Tyler, I’ve already been asleep for three years! I don’t want to go to prison again; it will ruin my whole life!”
Tyler gently comforted Clara. “It’s alright. I’ll talk to Clarine; she’ll drop the lawsuit.”
For the first time in three days, Tyler left the hospital ward.
On his drive home, he passed by a jewelry store.
It had been three years since their marriage, yet he had never given Clarine a gift. In fact, he wasn’t even entirely sure of her preferences.
Stepping into the shop, he could only rely on the clerk’s recommendations, purchasing an array of expensive jewelry. If he bought enough, surely there would be something among them that Clarine would like.
Then he would talk to her properly and she would surely forgive Clara.
No older sister could watch her younger sister go to prison.
He rushed home, only to find the large villa eerily quiet.
He searched every corner of the house but couldn’t find Clarine.

Many of her belongings seemed to be gone.
“Where’s Madam? Where did she go?”
The housekeeper looked bewildered. “Madam left three days ago. Didn’t she tell you?”

The housekeeper suddenly remembered something else and pointed to a document on the table. “Oh, right, Madam left a document on the table before she left. No one has touched it these past few days.”
Tyler picked up the document. Just seeing the words “Divorce Agreement” made him tremble uncontrollably.
How could this be? How could Clarine divorce him?
At that moment, his phone began to ring frantically.
Tyler answered impatiently, only to hear his assistant’s panicked voice.
“Mr. Jacobson, turn on the TV! Mr. Schneider just announced his fiancée and it’s madam!”
