Chapter 27 An Awkward Encounter in the Suite

Timothy had just been slapped by Logan in front of a crowd and warned by the cops not to cause trouble in the near future. Now, he remained silent

Felix grew anxious in an instant, Timothy, don’t tell me you’re chickening out? Are you really that afraid of your cousin?”

Felix’s words struck a nerve. In the Chase family, Logan’s word was law. Whoever he wanted gone would have no choice but to leave. Of course Timothy was afraid

Timothy abruptly stood, veins bulging on his forehead. Wouldn’t it be easy for you to deal with her? You’re Nolan’s uncle. Amelia has always tried to win favor with your family. Wasn’t she the one who used to grovel and play victim?”

Exactly. Now I don’t know what’s gotten into her. That bitch actually dared to throw something at me

Timothy’s gaze darkened, like a venomous snake lying in wait. You make the first move. If you can’t handle it, I’ll step in afterward.”

Fine. I’ll make her wish she were dead.”

That night, Amelia ended up staying at a hotel again. It was Dylan’s suite, no less

She had taken the card with her when she left in the morning. After spending the afternoon dealing with househunting, she was too exhausted to think and simply swiped the card to enter

Amelia leaned back on the sofa, letting out a yawn

Halfasleep, she became aware of the sound of running water coming from the master bedroom’s bathroom. When she lifted her head, she saw Dylan

འཕོ་༤

He was drying his hair, a bath towel wrapped around his waist. He wasn’t in his wheelchair this time. His feet were on the floor, but his steps were slow and deliberate

Amelia snapped fully awake and immediately stood up from the couch

Dylan didn’t move from where he stood. He casually ran the towel through his hair again, glancing toward the door, seemingly wondering how she had gotten in

It was the first time Amelia had seen him with chest exposed. Water droplets trailed from his neck, sliding down his toned torso before disappearing beneath the towel

She averted her gaze. Mr. Hale, we meet again.”

This is my room,he replied

Amelia felt awkward. She must have been so tired that she’d mindlessly swiped the card without considering anything else

Dylan moved slowly, needing to steady himself against walls or furniture

Despite this, his back remained perfectly straight, giving him the unyielding strength of a desert date- resilient and indomitable

Almost instinctively, Amelja stepped forward to support his arm. Apologies, I was too tired tonight and

didn’t think it through. I’ll book another room right away

Her palm touched his skin. Fresh from his shower, it felt cold under her hand

He pulled his arm away, his face expressionless, You can use the couch for one more night

When someone is truly exhausted, their brain feels like it’s pounding, as though all they need is a pillow to fall asleep

Alright, thank you, Mr. Hale,Amelia thanked

Since he didn’t want her help, there was no need to insist. She turned to leave but paused when she saw him heading toward the hair dryer

His movements were still slow and deliberate. Amelia quickly stepped forward. Are you trying to dry your hair? Let me help you.”

Standing on her tiptoes, she grabbed the hair dryer from the cabinet. But the cord accidentally hit her forehead, causing her to stumble backward several stepsstraight into a solid wall of muscle

Dylan’s legs were still in rehabilitation, so he could barely stand or walk. The collision sent him falling backward onto the bed

Amelia held the hair dryer, immediately realized what had happened and tried to turn around to help

In doing so, her clothes snagged on Dylan’s bath towel which was the only thing he had on. As it started to come loose, his expression darkened

Amelia! She froze, immediately shutting her eyes. Though she’d only caught a glimpse, she couldn’t help but internally acknowledge something

Dylan was undeniably impressive, in every possible way. She hadn’t done it on purpose

Dylan avoided her gaze, his jaw clenched. His wrist, pressed against the bed for support, was taut and rigid

Get out.He grabbed a nearby blanket and draped it over his lower body

Amelia opened her eyes cautiously, avoiding looking directly at him. Alright. Mr. Hale, rest well.”

The awkwardness of the situation completely dispelled any sleepiness she had

As the door clicked shut behind her, the master bedroom fell into complete silence

Dylan lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling. One arm covered his eyes, his thoughts unclear

His damp hair left water stains on the sheets, spreading a faint chill through the fabric

Despite his typically cold demeanor, something about him had shifted. It was as if some invisible restraint had been broken, and his entire being radiated an inexplicable allure

Amelia opened the door again, her voice still tinged with embarrassment. Mr. Hale, I’ve booked another room, so I won’t disturb you tonight. Goodnight.”

She had intended to leave directly, but after some thought, felt it was only polite to say goodbye

For a long moment, the room remained silent before a muffled reply came. Okay.”
