Chapter 88
“Everyone, just look at how Sharon speaks to me.” Roxanne couldn’t help but lash out at Sharon. “The Four Great Families have never produced such malicious child.”
The sight of Sharon made her uncomfortable. ‘This brat’s eyes look exactly like her shameless mother’s. They’re both here to ruin me, Roxanne thought,
“That’s not fair, Mrs. Vance,” Nicholas said as he walked in with Marvin following close behind. The two men had their arms around each other’s shoulders, looking like they’d reached some kind of agreement.
“The Vance family wronged her first, and my fiancée is simply giving you a taste of your own medicine. Besides, the bounty is just to find someone, not a kill order. Can’t the mighty Vance family handle a few petty criminals?” Nicholas added.
Roxanne felt a sharp pain in her chest from anger. The truth was that the Vance family couldn’t afford to employ many high–ranking martial artists anymore, but having this pointed out so bluntly to her face was humiliating.
Nicholas took the head seat and glanced around at everyone present. “This situation is straightforward. Mrs. Vance ordered the abduction of members of the Crawford family. My fiancée nearly got hurt while at the Vance Mansion.
“Then, she posted a thousand coin bounty on the Hunter Forum to find someone. No matter how you look at it, she hasn’t done anything seriously wrong. After all, the Vance family was in the wrong first.”
“Nonsense,” Roxanne snapped, unwilling to admit fault even though everyone was pressuring her to do so.
Wayne finally spoke up, “We want to know what it would take for Shari to withdraw that bounty. We understand that what happened that day was a misunderstanding, and we’ve tried to make peace with Shari, but you all keep refusing.”
“I’ve already made myself clear. I’ll only accept Mrs. Vance’s apology and nothing else,” Sharon replied with a mocking smile. ‘These people are truly annoying,‘ she thought.
‘I spelled it out so clearly before, yet they keep playing dumb. Well, I’m just stubborn enough to tear away the final veil,‘ Sharon thought.
Those without real power always ended up having to admit defeat.
The atmosphere instantly turned frosty.
Roxanne’s face tightened with anger. “You dare demand an apology from me? Watch yourself, girl. Karma’s a bitch.”
“Ha! Rich coming from someone with your track record. I’m not the one who should be worried about karma,‘ Sharon shot back calmly.
Sharon’s brothers watched the spectacle with amusement, secretly cheering her on. “Shari looks so cute even when she’s telling someone off,” one
murmured.
“She really is our sister. She’ll take anything except disrespect,” another said.
“Good for Shari, not letting anyone push her around. I’m so glad she’s our sister,” a third whispered.
Sharon’s brothers had assumed their sweet little sister wouldn’t know how to argue and would be bullied by Roxanne. Now, they realized they had
worried for nothing.
The siblings all shared one family trait–a razor–sharp tongue, inherited mainly from their father, Thomas.
Roxanne clutched her chest again in fury. ‘This girl is deliberately trying to get under my skin, she thought.
Finally, Roxanne glared at Sharon. “If you’re willing to cancel the bounty, I might consider letting you all rejoin the Vance family. You’d enjoy all the privileges of the Four Great Families and qualify for Oriston Academy. What do you say?”
“Wow, what a ‘generous‘ offer,” Sharon replied with a mocking laugh. “Mrs. Vance, have you seriously survived all these years on naivety alone?”

Sharon clicked her tongue in disapproval. She looked at her brothers standing beside her “Are any of your interested in returning to the Vanderbor
“Hmph,” Richard scoffed. “I never planned on going back from the day I walked out those doors.”
Wallace narrowed his eyes. “Mrs. Vance’s playing a clever game, trying to get us back into the Vance family just so she can control us again. Be you ren think we’re still those ten–year–old kids you could push around?”
The tension in the room was palpable.
Roxanne let out a scornful laugh. “Wallace, when I was about to throw you all out, you came to me secretly. You even got on your knees Begging me not
to send you away.
“Now your wings aren’t even fully grown, and you’re already looking down on the Vance family?”
At these words, Wallace’s expression froze. The other seven brothers all turned to stare at him. They hadn’t known about this incident.
“Wally, is that true?” Marvin asked in disbelief.
Richard’s face darkened with anger. This was an insult he couldn’t swallow.
Roxanne covered her mouth with a mocking laugh. “Richard, you’ve always been stubborn with me. I could have killed you little brats with a flick of my
wrist.
“Wallace was the one who came and begged me on his knees, which is the only reason you’re still alive. And now, twenty years later, the little wolf cubs want to bite the hand that fed them?”
Wallace remained completely calm. “What can I say? We were just kids trying to survive. There’s no shame in that.”
Sharon’s hands slowly clenched into fists. Never before had she felt this angry. She was truly furious.
Sharon slammed her hand on the table, instantly shattering it to pieces. Her eyes gradually turned red as her voice went ice–cold. “Wally.”
Everyone noticed the unusual change in Sharon. The pressure released by her S–level bloodline was more than ordinary people could handle.
At the very least, all the lackeys in the room collapsed to the ground, including Karen and Madeline.
