Chapter 10
“Stay here for a few more days. Once you’re discharged, we need to be sure that both your and the baby are in stable condition,” the doctor said.
Darius agreed right away because for him, that will benefit the child in my tummy.
It was frustrating. I should be out of here by now, already working on ways to win Darius‘ favor so he doesn’t follow his father’s orders. I cannot terminate my pregnancy now! Not when I’m already ahead of the plan.
I know that man too well. He’s desperate to please his father. That’s why he even betrayed Rosella that made her want divorce just to give that old man a grandchild.
e may be an Alpha, but all he really is… is a man who wants to please everyone. He’s terrified of disappointing people. That’s his greatest weakness. And that’s the very crack I slipped through to get into his life.

I’ve loved Darius since I was a child. I admired him. I dreamt of him. So when he married, my world shattered. I understood I was just a human with no name to boast about in their world. But it still stung to see him marry someone just like me. A woman with nothing to offer either.
I was ready to accept I no longer had a chance. Not until the night he got drunk and confessed that his wife could never give him a child. That woman wasn’t lucky at all. She couldn’t complete him. But I could.
A drunk, heartbroken Alpha is no longer strong against temptation. With a little push, a whisper of hope that he could still have a child, a kiss, a little skin, and I got him. He woke up beside me with the belief that I might already be carrying his heir.
That was all the opportunity I needed. After working so long just to stay close to him, I finally succeeded. But I won’t settle for being the woman who gave birth to his child. I will take Rosella’s place. I will become his wife.
“How are you feeling?” my father asked as he entered the room.
I smiled like a fool. “I’m happy, Dad. Luna Rosella is really serious about the divorce.”
I let out a quiet giggle. That was when my mother walked in. Her eyes narrowed, and she
exhaled sharply.
“I still can’t believe you almost lost my grandchild because of that little stunt, Sasha,” she muttered.
My smile faltered. As if none of this would benefit them, too. They should be proud of me. “That was just for drama, Mom. Thank God Dad knows how to act,” I said, laughing lightly. “I didn’t act. I was afraid you were actually going to die,” he hissed, clearly irritated.
He hadn’t stopped sulking since this morning.
“This is still the Luna’s fault. She should be punished for endangering not only you, but the Alpha’s son. The future heir! Doesn’t that deserve consequences?” he asked angrily.

I grinned at the thought. I would love to see her suffer. All the jealousy and envy I had swallowed for years would finally be repaid once she saw how useless she was next to me. Because in the end, Darius would choose me. Because I carry his child.
“Don’t worry. According to the housemaids, she’s missing. That means I have the mansion all to myself now. Mom, Dad, you can move in too. And once they get divorced and Darius falls in love with me, we’ll finally be part of the social elite.”
They both exhaled deeply, still uncertain. I reached out and took their hands, giving them at gentle squeeze.
“Just trust me. I have a plan. Darius won’t throw me away once I give birth, okay? The child
ds me. Besides, Darius already knows Rosella will never accept this baby.”
I will never allow my child to call her mother. He’s mine. He belongs to me. He and Darius are the family I have dreamed of for so long. Slowly, everything is falling into place. Rosella just needs to be completely erased from our path.
It’s only a matter of time before Darius loves me, too. First, he already saw what I could do for him. I’m carrying his child, I’d give birth, take care of both him and our baby. He’ll choose me completely.
“That old man is going to be a problem,” Dad muttered. “What if he tries to really get rid of the baby?”
I remembered what the former Alpha had told Darius. He wanted the pregnancy. terminated. He wanted me discarded. My fists clenched.
“I didn’t expect he’d rather lose his own grandchild than accept you.” Mom said bitterly. “How could he choose that barren woman over you? Over his own blood?”
“He doesn’t know Rosella can’t bear children yet,” I told her with a smirk. “Maybe it’s time someone shatters that perfect little image he has of his daughter–in–law.”
My parents‘ jaws dropped. I smiled and gently caressed my belly.
“And no, Mom, Dad,” I added slowly, a glint of pride in my voice. “This isn’t his grandchild. This isn’t the Alpha’s child. But he will be his future heir.”
My mother shot up from her seat. “What?! What do you mean by that?”
I shrugged, my smile unfading. “I was already pregnant before Darius and I mated. This baby belongs to someone else, not Darius. But he will never know, right?”
