“Who helped Rosella escape?!” I asked, my voice Icy and filled with rage. “Who among your defied my orders to keep your Luna inside that damn cell?!”
Each of them stiffened and lowered their heads even further. My anger grew heavier in my chest the longer I waited and got nothing from any of them. All my men, the housemaids, even the ones stationed outside the village to watch who comes in and out, were all here. being questioned by me.
No one could tell me how, when I arrived at the cell where my wife was supposed to be, what welcomed me was nothing but emptiness. The food and water were untouched.. There was no trace of her I could follow or punish for the chaos she caused at the party earlier.
ella was gone.
She escaped. And how could Rosella escape without someone helping her? My wife is not like
kind. She is an ordinary human whom I met while I was training to become an
elwa my Alpha.
I met her when I was injured and left alone, after all the healers with me were gone. She was the one who helped me regain my strength. She was terrified when she found out what I truly was, but she still promised to keep it to herself.
No one else knew about what happened. And in this world, I usually admire people who can keep a secret. I got interested in her, and eventually, I found myself liking her. Marrying her used to be one of my proudest accomplishments. Rosella was one of the things I worked hard for, so I will never allow her to just walk away.
But this time, she still managed to get away from me. Because of these fools.
I kicked the chair in front of them. They all flinched.
“Who helped her escape, and why didn’t a single one of you catch her before she got away?!”
“Alpha… w–we didn’t know who helped her. We couldn’t bring ourselves to disobey your orders,” the guard answered.
“Then do you believe she freed herself, huh?!”
I was not satisfied yelling and smashed the glass table beside me. The shards scattered and cut into their knees and feet. I did not feel the slightest guilt.
“Useless fools!” I growled.
I wanted to lash out and release my anger on them, but would that bring Rosella back? What I needed to do now was to find her before she could get any farther.
When I turned, Desmond stood there, my Beta, calm as ever, while I was burning with rage.
“No one could identify the driver of the cab she used, or how she was able to contact him,” he informed me as he followed me out toward the office.
“How about telling me where she is staying now? Any lead on where she went?” I tried to

stay calm with him, since he was not supposed to be held accountable for this. He was not even in the country and only came home because I forced him to help me with my
stubborn wife.
“Sorry, Darius. No trace of her. You know she’s not someone the community values unless. it’s within our pack. No media outlets followed her. No coverage to tell us where she was
last seen.”
I was typing a message to someone when I unknowingly crushed my phone from how hard I was gripping it. In the end, I threw it out of frustration.
“My child might be born premature because of Rosella’s stunt. And now she is missing, Desmond. My wife is gone, and I am stuck with all the mess she made,” I spat.
be she’s tired of how you treated her. You locked her up, Darius. That alone is enough to push her to the edge,” he said.
“And what should I have done if I didn’t lock her up?” I cut him off. “Let her run away with her luggage? Continue divorcing me?”
Desmond’s expression remained the same. I hated how calm he was while I was fuming with anger.
“Isn’t that what happened anyway?” he said quietly. “But it’s worse now, because you don’t even know where she went. And she already told your family and the rest of the pack that she’s divorcing you.”
I let out a bitter chuckle. So bitter that my eyes landed on the wedding portrait hanging on the wall. Rosella looked so happy there. And so did I. You would never have guessed it would end like this. A woman running away from her husband, and a man determined to chase her wherever she goes.
“Make sure to find her whereabouts,” I ordered him. “Do not stop until you track her down. I
need her back with me, Desmond.”
“What about Sasha? You cannot have them both under the same roof, even if you bring Luna rosella back.”
I rubbed my temples. Maybe he was right. Maybe I was wrong to bring Sasha here. But I only did that because I thought Rosella would be glad to help with her pregnancy. Because that child inside her is supposed to be ours. I did not get another woman pregnant for Sasha’s sake. I did it for me and Rosella.
“I will send her out of this house. Just bring my wife back.” I turned to face him and gave him a sharp look. “Bring Rosella back. Whether by hook or by crook.”
