Chapter 13
POV Kaleo
“See? This female doesn’t have hair; she’s like an… ugly cub! You can’t marry that!” Gen points at Melissa, who looks even smaller sitting in the stone bath.
At least I was right about the water’s temperature; she’s clearly not suffering, and her human heart is beating healthily, according to what I can hear.
“She has no tail, no horns, her skin is all one color, and she smells strange!”
I really didn’t know my little wife would come without hair; after all, I believed all humans looked somewhat like us. But since she doesn’t have any, I don’t understand why my sister is making such a fuss. It’s just hair.
There’s nothing ugly about Melissa, and I don’t understand how anyone could focus on the top of her head. Looking at her now, all I see is a pair of light hazel eyes tinged with green, wide with fear, a small nose, full lips, and hunched shoulders. She isn’t from here; it was already expected that we’d have differences, and it doesn’t diminish the significance of her arrival.
This female is a miracle–a literal miracle–and the only regret I have right now is that the water she’s in is so murky that I can’t see anything of her body.
“Are you listening to me, Kaleo?! If you marry this outsider, you’ll lose your power. She’s from outside, and nothing from outside is welcome in Selvaria!”
Gen’s words send a shiver of anger down my spine, and I can’t suppress the growl escaping my mouth because I’ve always had trouble with rage. There’s something inside me–maybe something that comes with the fire–that makes me lose control easily.
“Give me the clothes she was wearing when she arrived,” I order, breathing slowly to try and control myself. Gen is my sister, and hurting family is wrong.
“You’re not thinking of taking that home, are you? A ground creature is prettier!”
Ground creatures are small, weird, pale things without eyes that hide in holes and sleep all the time.

“She’s my wife!” I roar, feeling the fire start to build inside me. “She’s my female and will be respected. Give me the coat now if you don’t want to get burned–Melissa can’t stay in
the cold!”
Gen finally realizes that saying anything else might put her life at risk. She steps back,
wide–eyed.
“Anyone who has a problem with my wife will have a problem with me!” I want to say
each word slowly and calmly, but I can’t. I’m growling loudly now.
I give up on the conversation before I truly explode, moving closer to Melissa without
looking at Gen and extending my hand toward her.
I’ll cover her, take her to my home, and have Virg come to the cabin to officiate our
marriage. Staying here is pushing me to my limit.
“Come, Melissa,” I say in my language, only to remember she doesn’t seem to have set her
translator to understand me. So, I decide to handle this my way.
I plunge my hand into the water, trying to grab her by the waist. She evades me, but I’m
sure she’ll understand what’s happening once I update her translator. Ignoring her fear, I grab what I can–her tiny foot.
If I had more time, I’d finally satisfy my curiosity about her body and examine every part of her, even her toes. But now isn’t the time, so I toss the torch I’m holding onto the damp ground, extinguishing it, and use both hands to lift my female.
Now that she’s no longer unconscious, I can focus on how Melissa fills my hands–her
waist, her thighs. Her entire body is soft, delicious, and smooth to the touch, with no
scales.
Just one glance at her breasts bouncing, her dark, hard nipples swaying, is enough to make both of my cocks harden even more.
I just need her to stop wearing that cursed piece of fabric around her hips, which covers her backside and her openings from me. I noticed it when I dressed her earlier; I believe it’s called “underwear.” Even in the water, she kept it on, which irritates and intrigues me simultaneously.
While all I can think about is how hard this human is making me and how much I’ll learn

about her species tonight, Melissa struggles as I lift her from the water. She makes fighting noises, almost like little growls, which only excites me further.
I’ve truly chosen my wife well, and pride fills me no matter what anyone says. The way my body reacts to her is more than proof of that.
Finally, I hold her facing me, her feet far from the ground, forcing her bare thighs to wrap around my body, and her soft breasts press against my chest.
“Let me go, you son of a b-” Her angry sentence cuts off halfway, her eyes wide. “You…
you’re warm?” she asks. Instead of trying to push me away, Melissa clings to me like a
small animal seeking warmth. “You’re so damn warm,” she says, even letting out little
satisfied moans as I support her, holding her wet backside.
“Here…” Gen suddenly speaks, and I only now realize she’s been silent since I grabbed
Melissa. She holds out my fur coat, her hand trembling. “I don’t want this outsider to die,
Kaleo, but you can’t marry that.”
The way she says
“that” makes my body burn with anger, but Melissa doesn’t seem to care.
She presses her cheek against my chest, letting out a low moan.
“Thank God. It’s like a heater,” she murmurs, then presses her face into me.
I quickly take the coat Gen offers and drape it over Melissa’s back to shield her from the cold wind. She doesn’t protest.
“I decide who I marry,” I growl before heading off to find Lica and take my wife to my
home.
POV Melissa
“He is like one of those hot water bottles you place on your stomach when you have
cramps.
Everything inside me relaxes, and then there’s his scent, mingling with the icy air that feels like a knife cutting through me. I have no idea what that smell is, but it must be something from his species–something powerful, warm, and deeply masculine–that affects me as much as his heat does.

He’s so blistering hot in this freezing cold that I can’t help but moan as I cling to him like a monkey. I don’t even think about what I’m doing or how dangerous and weird this is. His muscles are pure steel. He holds me with ease, even though I’m far from being a petite
human, and I rub my hands on him to warm my fingers.
Sure, I was just in the warm water a moment ago, but the second my skin touched the air outside the tub, the water on me felt like it wanted to freeze instantly. Clinging to this
alien–I think his name is Kaleo–is like a balm.
His skin has the exact texture of human skin, at least where I touch the center of his
broad chest. But when I raise my nose a bit, I bump into rough, strange patches.
Out in space, no one gets this close–not humans, at least. Our race is always on high
alert because even another human could try to traffic you. Not even during sex do people
let their guard down, which is probably why it’s so rare to see human couples. On the ship
where I was born, it was almost unheard of.
Still, I hold him as tightly as I think I’ve ever held anyone, whining from the cold because my survival depends on him keeping me from freezing to death. He must know this, which is probably why he ignored my struggle in the water and pressed me against his
massive body.
He’s like the humans you see on Earth’s magazine covers, with abs and everything, but
broader, more… rugged. Meanwhile, the aliens go back to talking as if they don’t care what I’m doing here, and someone drapes a coat over my back–similar to the one the
woman was wearing.
After the coat, they also pull on a pair of pants that are way too big for me. Sure, I’ve
worked with my nudity for seven years, but even so, I should be embarrassed. I’m topless,
my butt’s exposed, I have no wig, and I’m only wearing panties, soaked from head to toe.
But the cold in this place is eating away at my thoughts, so I don’t complain about the sort of blanket they throw over my head afterward. I just accept it, curling into a ball of fabric clinging to this alien who starts moving.
This place must be below freezing–maybe -10 degrees. I’ve never been anywhere near this kind of temperature before, but I’m guessing because I once watched a documentary about Earth’s winters.
One thing I remember from that documentary is how hypothermia causes mental

confusion. I think that’s why, at some point, I can’t do anything else but hold on to this alien.”
