Chapter 9
POV Kaleo
I pull Lica’s reins to approach ahead of everyone, already anticipating the chaos that will erupt once these males set their eyes on whatever emerges from the ship. The lack of females on our planet is far too dire to trust any of them.
My nola, which closely resembles what humans call a horse, has been with me since childhood and is highly reliable. But of course, she is scared and moves cautiously, sniffing the air.
Once we get close enough, I dismount easily and, before anything else, growl at each of them, asserting my dominance.
Below me in the hierarchy is only the village chief, who holds that position solely because I declined it. Yet, they do not obey me–azuris are difficult to command.
At this moment, I should insist on my orders, but, being as nervous as they are, I fail to think clearly and, like them, merely watch as the door opens.
The problem is that the Dark Forest constantly has a dense fog, which blinds me momentarily to what will step out of the ship, and my hearts race.
Then she finally appears. First, her small, pale, rounded face, and then her entire body, which is like a mirage. She is so stunning I can barely breathe, and Melissa is looking straight at me, even with all these males closing in on the square, gray ship.
It’s as if she already knows she’s mine, despite my choice to keep my identity hidden from Unob. I told him I was Kin, a family from another azuri village, but I can explain everything to this small female later. She both fascinates and unsettles me at the same time.
She doesn’t have a trace of blue on her scaleless skin. Furthermore, her eyes aren’t red, she has no horns, and no tail. I can’t deny that it’s strange, but it’s still alluring–almost magnetic to me–with her beautiful and distinct face, and her body that seems incredibly soft.
My hands almost itch to touch her.

Her rounded belly is outlined by her clothing, and her full breasts are partially exposed in
a way that makes me swallow hard, with searing thoughts flashing through my mind. She is undoubtedly the smallest female I’ve ever seen; azurís usually reach at least my
shoulder.
But she doesn’t look at me with relief at finally meeting me after all the days I’ve waited for her, nor with a hint of joy. Instead, her rosy lips part slightly, and her eyes widen in an
expression of terror, as if she’s seeing a lincoyo, and her entire body starts to tremble.
It’s only then that I notice a significant issue, one I should’ve realized the second I laid
eyes on her.
Why is she wearing so little?!
If she were azuri, the dress she’s wearing would suffice indoors, away from the wind and
under furs. But humans can’t withstand Selvaria’s cold–I read the documents I found in
the hologram!
Yet her pale, delectable thighs are completely exposed, her soft arms uncovered, and the
neckline of her dress reveals the tops of her ample breasts compared to her small human
size. It makes me purr involuntarily while jolting me back to reality.
First, if I find her irresistible, so do all these males here. Second, if I don’t act soon, this
female won’t survive.
This thing she’s wearing is far too thin, even if very pleasing to the eyes!
So, I force my body into battle mode before everything spirals further out of control. I
stride to the ship’s little door and stand in front of her, likely frightened by the number of males gathered here, not by me. Surely, the human has all the necessary information and
knows that we’re about to be married.
But being this close means the 1.55m–tall female has to crane her neck to look up at me,
who, by my calculations on a terrestrial measurement site, stands at about 2.30m or
2.40m. This only worsens the terror on her face.
Did she expect me to be the size of her males?
“W–w–who a–a–are y–you?” she stammers, her teeth chattering from the cold, her jaw trembling, and I can only understand her thanks to the two small spheres installed deep

in my ears.

I received this translator during my last meetings with the faleus and installed the human language to prepare for her arrival. But the rest of my village doesn’t have a translator and wouldn’t understand my little wife.
“Kaleo Ni,” I reply softly with great pride, wondering if Unob downloaded my people’s
language into her translator so she can understand me.
But the moment I respond, it’s as if I’ve cast a spell on her. Her light brown pupils roll
back, and Melissa’s knees give out, sending her entire lifeless body collapsing forward.
“Shit!” I’m startled, but my reflexes are fast, so I manage to catch the human before she hits the ground, lifting her soft body into my arms and holding her against me.
My chest feels like it’s about to burst.
I inhale her scent all at once and freeze. Melissa’s aroma is so intoxicating, so sweet and
delicious as her appearance. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever experienced in all my years–so
provocative that my knees nearly buckle as well, leaving me breathless.
Do human females use some kind of product on their skin to attract males?
But Melissa is freezing, and I can’t focus on the fiery desire building inside me, on the flames licking my throat and causing smoke to escape my nostrils. She’s far too cold for me to let my instincts take over.
Azuris don’t succumb to the cold; all of us can survive Selvaria. The difference is that only a few of us have enough fire to spit it, and I am one of them.
“What’s going on, General Ni?!” one of the males asks, and I become aware of their murmuring again, which had disappeared when I was so focused on this female.
But now, I don’t even have time to glance at them. My hearts are racing, not from Melissa’s weight, which is minimal, but because I know Selvaria will destroy this female in no time. She could develop something called hypothermia and even lose limbs.
“Private matter. Get out of my way!” I growl loudly, already reaching Lica and mounting her with Melissa slung over my shoulder like a doll. This wasn’t how our first meeting was supposed to go! Then I slide the female so she’s sitting in front of me, her legs on either

side of my mount, even though her body is entirely limp, and pull my nola’s reins to head in the direction I intend to go. “Don’t touch the ship!”
