Alexander walked in at that moment. “Amelia, are you running away from home again? Stop fooling around. The starving to death here.” He strode forward, quickly grabbing the muitcase from Amelia’s hands
o don’t apologize to Mom, Dad, and Milly, no one will talk to you anymore. How long are genr planning to stay out this time? Didn’t you try running away yesterday too? You were back by morning. This is so embarrassing. You’re making this family feel completely disharmonious,” As he spoke, he threw the suitcase aside.
The few pieces of clothing she had painstakingly packed spilled onto the ground.
Do you know why everyone likes Milly? She’s gentle, well–educated, and capable at work. You can’t even compare to her. Mom and Dad still refuse to give you any shares. How have you not reflected on yourself?”
Looking at her clothes scattered across the floor, Amelia finally snapped. She raised her hand and slapped
him
Slap!
Alexander held his face, which was quickly swelling, staring in disbelief. “You hit me?”
His usually mild–tempered and indulgent eldest sister had actually hit him. For a few seconds, Alexander felt utterly betrayed.
You hit me? I can’t believe it! Amelia, I’m really not talking to you anymore this time! Unless you cook for me for a whole year, you figure it out! Go ahead and leave if you want to run away!” With that, he stormed off in a fury.
When Amelia came downstairs with her suitcase, she heard Celia’s shrill voice. “You wretched girl, how dare you hit your brother! You’re… you’re completely unreasonable! Get outside and kneel until we’re satisfied, or this house has no place for you!”
Amelia glanced toward the couch. Milly was gently applying a cold egg to Alexander’s face, her eyes full of
concern.
Alexander felt moved, but he glared at Amelia and let out a deliberate scoff.
The stabbing pain in Amelia’s chest came in waves but she had truly lost her memory and would no longer beg for their affection like before.
Good, I don’t want to stay in this house anyway. If there’s no room for me, so be it. The four of you can live

happily ever after I won’t get in your way. Goodbye!” she said calmly as she pulled her suitcase, walking
ursleht toward the door.
Geha thought she had misheard. Her chest heaved with anger. “You… you! How did I end up giving birth to disgrace like you? Fine, fine, finel You’ve never held a proper job since graduating. Let’s see how long vou survive out there. You’ll come crawling back crying soon enough!”
The only response she got was the loud slam of the door.
Celia was so enraged she collapsed onto the couch, her trembling hand barely able to hold her cup. “I should never have given birth to her!”
Milly’s eyes gleamed with amusement but her words were full of concern. “Mom, don’t worry. Amelia always says the cruelest things but the faster she leaves, the quicker she comes back.”
Alexander chimed in. “Exactly. She even hit me this time. I absolutely won’t forgive her.”
Amelia dragged her suitcase to the main gate. With only the 2000 dollars that Lily had transferred to her. Her first priority was finding a place to live.
Although Lily had offered her a place to stay, Amelia didn’t want to trouble her for too long.
She searched online for nearby rental options, hoping to find something close to Hale Corporation.
But the Hale Corporation building was in the heart of the most expensive district, where even the cheapest apartments cost nearly 4000 dollars per month. The money she had wouldn’t even cover one month’s rent.
If she rented farther away, however, the daily taxi fares would add up quickly. After weighing her options, she noticed free electric bikes available nearby.
Eventually, she settled for an old apartment complex farther away. It would take her 20 minutes by electric bike to reach Hale Corporation.
Unlocking one of the electric bikes outside the complex, she decided to practice riding it on the main road.
With no memory of her past, she wasn’t sure if she knew how to ride one. It looked easy enough when others did it.
The bike moved clumsily, creeping along. Almost everyone passing by honked at her. Sweating nervously, she stuck close to the side of the road, trying to avoid any accidents.
In a luxury car not far away, Dylan was reading the documents on his lap.
As the car stopped at a red light, he closed the folder and glanced outside. Just in time to see Amelia wobbling along on an electric bike.
Today, she wore her hair in a ponytail. Under the sunlight, her skin looked almost translucent, giving her a fresh, vibrant appearance.
She swayed unsteadily and nearly collided with a turning car. Dylan’s gaze lingered, his fingertips curling slightly.
His driver, Nathan, spoke up from the front. “Isn’t that Ms. Summers? What kind of stunt is she pulling this time? Didn’t she refuse to sit in cars worth less than 600,000 before?
