Augustin’s POV
I couldn’t believe what Juno just told me. Eliza betrayed me? Fuck. Fenris was about to break free. I needed to stay calm, but my blood boiled.
Juno’s eyes said it all. It took everything she had to tell me this. I reached out and touched her hair, then kissed her lips. Not to only show affection and 1- needed to calm down.

“I had doubts about her,” I admitted, sitting on our bed. “When she first got here, she seemed innocent. I thought I could have a sister.
The memory of her arrival at Levenston Manor hit me. Had she been lying the whole time? When I found out about the horrible things she did to women in the harem, I took away her privileges. But I never expected this level of betrayal.
‘I need to find out what’s happening. Now.” I stood up, ready to go.
Juno grabbed my wrist hard. “Wait. There’s more. Promise me you’ll stay calm.”
I took a deep breath, fighting Fenris’s growl. “Tell me.”
“After what happened with Eliza, I ran into your mother.” Juno looked uncomfortable. “She was crying. She insisted we talk right away. I checked on Scarlett first, then went to your mother’s room.”
I tensed. “What did she want?”
“She explained why she left so suddenly that day, when Evanth was arrested and where she went.” Juno fidgeted with the bedsheet. “According to her, your father Nathanael had a fated mate named Charlotte Sinclair.”
I couldn’t hold back my exclamation of surprise; this news was too shocking for me. My father never mentioned a fated mate.
“Your father accepted his fated mate and made your mother share. She hadn’t had you yet. When Charlotte got pregnant, your mother left with Evanth.” Juno paused to see my reaction. “Later, something happened, and your mother was asked to come back to take care of Charlotte.”
“My father tried to divorce her, didn’t he?”
“Yes. But she was too important, coming from the Montalvo family. He couldn’t divorce her, so he started conquering the Elder families and Lakeside. He wanted the whole world. He wanted to be powerful enough to overthrow the Elders and marry that woman.”
“What happened to Charlotte?”
“She died giving birth to their son. Your mother said her death was a relief, but that’s when your father started expanding the harem and sleeping with the women there. He only chose women with Western bloodlines because they reminded him of his fated mate.”
I got up and paced the room. My father’s obsession/with Western women had always seemed weird. Now it made sick sense.
“Nathanael realized Charlotte’s son was an Alpha Juno continued. “He tried to get your mother to care for the baby, but she refused. So he sent the boy away.”
I stapped pacing. ‘I have a half–brother?”
“Yes. Later, your mother got pregnant with you. After she had you, things got better because Nathanael found out you were an Alpha too.”
And your mother didn’t leave to fight back,” Juno explained. “She went looking for Chris Sinclair, your half–brother. She thinks he might be behind
everything If something happens to you, or happened to your brother, Chris would benefit a lot.
Did she say where is Chris?
Juno shook her head. ‘No, she didn’t know.”
I nodded, “I’ll handle this.”
Juno smiled, ‘I know you will.”
She lay back on our bed. I held her until she fell asleep.
