Chapter 131
Juno’s POV
The flight felt endless. By the time we landed in Clifflands, I was barely conscious. Delta Stevens came to meet us at the airstrip.
*Luna,‘ he greeted with a bow, his tone respectful, almost reverent.
I vaguely remembered Stevens – he had struck me when we were first brought to Clifflands. I wanted to make a sarcastic comment, but my condition and mood left me without the energy for humor.
Is Alpha King Augustin here?” Scarlett asked, supporting my weight.
“No, Luna, Stevens replied, his expression concerned as he took in my appearance. “He’s in a meeting with the council. Shall I notify him of your return?”
“Yes, immediately, Scarlett insisted.
‘Do you need assistance with Luna Juno?” he asked, moving forward hesitantly.
“Just have a car ready,” Scarlett replied. “And make sure the medical team is alerted.”
When we arrived at the manor, I desperately wanted to see Augustin, but Freya informed us that he, Bryloch, and Adryx were not home.
“Where are they?” I whispered, my throat raw from vomiting.
“Probably still in that meeting, Scarlett replied, “Let’s get you to bed.”
In my room, Freya greeted us with concern. By then, I was obviously very ill. My fever had spiked, and I could barely stand without assistance.
“What happened to her?” Freya asked, helping Scarlett place me on the bed.
Scarlett pressed a cool cloth to my forehead. “She was sick before we left, but last night it got much worse.”
“Has she seen a doctor yet?” Freya asked, touching my forehead with cool fingers.
“Not yet,” Scarlett replied. “We wanted to get her home first.”
“This is bad, Freya whispered. “Amelia is back, by the way. She’s been taking charge of the manor, and Augustin doesn’t seem to care.”
“When did she return?” Scarlett asked, her voice tense.
“Yesterday,” Freya replied. “And she’s already rearranged half the house staff and changed the dinner menu for the month. This bitch is becoming somewhat frightening.”
I groaned at the news. The last thing I needed was to deal with Amelia while feeling like death warmed over.
“Call Augustin,” Scarlett instructed. “Tell him to send a doctor.”
Freya pulled out her phone and dialed. When no one answered, she tried another number.
“Dear? It’s Freya, they’re back, and Juno is very sick. Can you tell Augustin to send a doctor?” She paused, listening. “How long will the meeting last?… That’s too long… Yes, I understand it’s important, but so is this.”
She hung up and turned to us. “Augustin is in a meeting with the council. Adryx will send a doctor and tell Augustin when the meeting ends.”
“When will that be?” Scarlett demanded.
“He said at least another hour.”

That’s not acceptable, Scarlett snapped. Tell him to notify Augustin now. Jun. needs him.
Adryx said the meeting is critical, Freya explained hesitantly.
“I don’t care if they’re negotiating world peace, Scarlett hissed. His mate is seriously ill. Call him back.
Freya made another call, more forceful this time. This is an emergency. Augustin needs to be notified immediately.
She listened for a moment before adding, “I don’t care what you have to interrupt. His Luna is burning with fever. What would he want you to do, Adryx? Think about it.
After a pause, she nodded. “Thank you. Tell him to hurry.”
She hung up and turned to us. “He’s going to interrupt the meeting now.”
After hanging up, Scarlett and Freya helped me to the bathroom and lowered me into a cold bath.
“We’ll add ice to bring down your temperature, Freya explained. “The doctor is on the way.”
“How long?” I managed to ask through chattering teeth.
“Ten minutes at most,” Freya assured me. “Just hang in there, Juno.”
The cold water made me shiver violently, but it provided some relief from the burning heat. My heightened senses detected every scent in.
I’m not sure how much time passed before the doctor arrived. They helped me back to bed, wrapping me in light sheets. I heard the door burst open, and Augustin rushed to my side.
His face was a mask of worry and fear. “What happened? What’s wrong with her?” His voice cracked with emotion.
“She’s been sick for days, Scarlett explained quickly. “But it got much worse last night.”
“Why wasn’t I informed immediately?” he demanded, his eyes never leaving my face.
“There wasn’t time, Scarlett replied. “We came straight here.”
I tried to respond, but my throat was too dry, my body too weak.
He kissed my lips, my cheeks, my palms. “Berry,” he whispered, his voice breaking. “I’m here now. I’ve got you.”
Fenris, growled low in his chest. I managed a weak smile, trying to reassure him.
I squeezed his hand gently, letting him know I was still present, just feverish and nauseated.
I’m okay,” I whispered, “Just sick,
“You’re burning up,” he said, his voice tight with worry. How long has this been going on?”
Before I could answer, he kissed my lips again, then my forehead. The doctor approached with a needle and drew blood for testing.
‘How long has she been feeling unwell?” the doctor asked.
Scarlett hesitated, glancing at Augustin nervously. “Five days,” she finally admitted.
‘Five days?” Augustin’s eyes widened in shock, “Why didn’t you tell me?”
‘She didn’t want to worry you,” Scarlett explained quickly. She thought it would pass.”
‘I should have been informed,” he said firmly, his jaw clenched.

Dlame Scarlett, I whispered, “It was my decisione
Augustin’s expression softened as he looked back at me, “We’ll discuss this later, he said gently. Right now, let’s focus on getting you befter
“She’s been vomiting, her appetite increased dramatically, and she’s had a high fever,‘ Scarlett continued, describing my symptoms to the dokter,
The doctor nodded. “Anything else? Mood swings?*
“Some, Scarlett admitted. “But with everything going on, it’s hard to say if that’s from
Scarlett shrugged. “I couldn’t say for sure.”
Ta like a urine sample for a quick test,” the doctor said.
Is that necessary?” Augustin asked. “We already have the blood sample.”
the illness or just… circumstances.
“This will give us immediate results for certain possibilities,” the doctor explained. “The
blood work will take longer to process.”
Augustin carefully lifted me from the bed. I’ve got you, Berry,” he whispered, carrying
me to the bathroom.
“I can walk,” I protested weakly.
“Let me take care of you,” he insisted.
His arms were strong and steady around me, but I could feel the tension in his muscles, the barely controlled fear. He was trying to be strong for me.
With his help, I managed to provide a sample. He carried me back to bed with the same gentle care, then returned to the bathroom to retrieve the sample for the doctor.
The doctor dipped a test strip into the urine, then set it aside to wait for the results.
I watched as the doctor examined the test strip, his expression changing from puzzled to delighted.
He turned to Augustin with a broad smile. “Congratulations, Alpha King. Luna Juno is pregnant.”
“What?” Augustin breathed, his face frozen in shock.
“Pregnant?” I echoed, my mind struggling to process the news.
