Chapter 72
Augustin’s POV
Energy filled
fitted the dining room as Juno sat across from me. Her eyes sparkled, mirroring my excitement. Our fingers stayed intertwined on the table, and I kept leaning over to kiss her.
“You keep looking at your ring,” I said, watching her eyes dart to the red gemstone.
She smiled, blushing, “I can’t help it. It’s perfect.”
“Just like you.” I kissed her hand just above the ting. Fenris, my wolf stirred inside me, thrilled that she had agreed to be ours.
Our celebratory dinner was just the two of us after announcing our engagement. My staff had prepared Juno’s favorite dishes and left us alone, knowing I wanted privacy.
“I never thought I’d feel this way again,” I admitted. “You’ve made my heart beat for someone again, Berry.”
Her es softened. “I hope it keeps beating for me for a very long time.”
“Forever,” I promised, meaning it completely. My wolf growled in agreement.
She’s ours, Fenris purred in my mind. Finally.
After dinner, we could hardly make it back to our bedroom before falling on each other like beasts. The need to touch, to claim, to possess overwhelmed us both. I pushed her against the wall just inside our room, lifting her easily as she wrapped her legs around
my waist.
In our private sanctuary, there was no restraint, no holding back. We moved from the wall to the floor, then finally to the bed, our bodies never fully separating. I mapped every inch of her skin with my hands and mouth, committing her to memory though I already knew her body as well as my own.
The night passed in a blur of passion and whispered promises. By morning, we were both deliciously exhausted, tangled in sheets that carried our mingled scents.
“I think we should visit my mother today,” I said. Juno lay beside me
She turned to face me, her expression suddenly wary. “Are you sure that’s a good idea? Your brother hates me, and your mother just recovered from an attack that was supposedly related to me.”
I frowned, running my fingers along her bare arm. “That’s precisely why we should go. I want to introduce you properly as my future.
Luna Queen.”
Juno bit her lower lip, a gesture I’d come to recognize as a sign of her anxiety. “I don’t have much experience with in–laws. Matthew’s parents handed over pack affairs to him and started traveling the world. Even after we got married, I never really met them. It was just us… until Isabelle showed up.”
I noted with satisfaction that she mentioned her past without pain in her voice. She was healing, moving forward. With me.
“Don’t worry,” I pulled her closer, pressing a kiss to her forehead. “I protect you with everything I have. Nobody will harm you, not
even with words.”
I’d kill for her, Fenris added silently.
I know. So would I, I responded to my wolf.

And it wasn’t just talk, I meant every word. Anyone who tried to come between us would face my wrath–family included.
“What should I wear?” she asked, her practical nature taking over once she’d made up her mind.
grinned, running my hand down her side to cup her perfect ass. “Aress, not Jeans.”
She laughed as I gave her a playful squeeze. “You’ve become naughty
“Only for you,” I replied, delighting in the blush that spread across her cheeks. I traced her heated skin with my thumb, lingering on her slightly parted lips. Her tongue darted out to lick my thumb, sering a jolt of electricity straight to my groin.
Let’s mark her now, Fenris urged. Why wait for the Purplefic

We agreed to follow tradition, I reminded him, though the thought tempted me too.
I might not be able to control myself until then, my wolf warned. I want to bite her.
I’ll hold out as long as I can, I promised, not entirely convinced I could resist either.
Juno disappeared into the closet and emerged wearing a sea–blue mini dress with a halter backless top. The dress showed off her beautiful legs, and I couldn’t help staring like a teenage boy seeing his first crush.
“You like?” she asked, twirling for me.
“Very much,” I managed, my mouth suddenly dry. “It suits you perfectly.”
I felt young again, caught up in the excitement of new love. Nervous yet eager, like I was finally living the life I was meant to have. People would see us together–many already had–but I didn’t care. Let them see how happy she made me.
