Chapter 52
MENA POV
Back in die room. I panicked “I don’t have anything to wear to a club”
I ordered some things this morning, he replied, eyes twinkling.
Before I could respond, he had me pressed against the wall, my legs wrapped around his waist. The silk of my robe slid up my thighs as his hands found my lace panties and tore them with one quick motion.
Augustin! I gasped, but my complaint died as he entered me in one powerful thrust, fulfilling the promise of his earlier teasing.
“Tuck, he growled, his teeth lengthening, nails sharpening into claws.
The sight of his transformation sent a bolt of lust through me. There was something primal about being taken by a man who was partly beast, whose control was shipping because of his need for me.
He moved with animal intensity, each thrust pushing me higher. I clung to him, nails digging into his shoulders, my body welcoming his ferocity.
Someone knocked at the door, but we were too far gone to care. My climax hit with blinding force, a cry turn from my throat as pleasure ripped through me. Augustin followed seconds later, his growl vibrating against my neck.
He lowered me gently to my feet, both of us breathing hard. I couldn’t help the laugh that escaped me, born of pure satisfaction.
“Hungry again already?” I teased.
“I have a big appetite, he murmured, kissing the shell of my ear. He tucked himself away and straightened his clothes while I used my robe to cover the remnants of my torn underwear.
The knock came again, softer, this time. Augustin pressed a button near the door, and a service attendant wheeled in two clothing racks and two boxes. One contained jewelry, the other makeup.
“You thought of everything,” I said.
“For you, always.”
After cleaning up in the bathroom, I returned to find Augustin sorting through the clothes he’d ordered. His attention to detail was touching, he’d even included several options in various styles.
“This one,” he suggested, holding up a deep emerald green slip dress with thin straps. The silk caught the light, shifting between forest and moss green.
“Perfect for a club,” I agreed, taking it from him. The dress was short, designed for dancing and nightlife.
I paired it with pale green heels, left my hair loose and wild, and applied minimal makeup. When I emerged from the bathroom, Augustin’s eyes darkened appreciatively. He wore a black shirt with dark gray jeans, his long hair pulled back in a ponytail.
“Beautiful,” he said simply.
“Not so bad yourself,” I replied, eyeing him hungrily,
He pulled me close, burying his nose in my neck and inhaling deeply. “Promise me something,” he whispered.
“What?”
“That you’ll stay with me. Always.”
I pulled back to look into his eyes, seeing vulnerability there. “I’m not going anywhere unless you send me away,” I assured him. “What Matthew and I had is over. Don’t hold back with me because you’re afraid I’ll leave.”

He pressed his forehead against me, sighing deeply. ‘I won’t end this. Ever.
His arms lightenest sound me, and I tueathed in his scent, feeling safe and wanted.
Three leeps waited at the entrance to Levenston Manor Fieva and Adrys climbed into one, her silver dress glowing in the mannlight. In another, Scarletr wearing purple sat close to Payloch, their earlier argument cleaily resolved.
Augustin guided me to the third vehicle, helping me in before taking the driver’s seat. The road grew bumpy as we descended from the mountain, winding through desse forest for nearly half an hour.
Where are we going exactly?” I asked, watching the trees flash by in the headlights.
To the town center, he replied. “It’s called Goldenvale. My mother and brother live there.”
I turned to him in surprise. You have family?”
He shot me an amused glance. ‘Did you think I hatched from an

“Does your brother visit you often?”
“Occasionally. We don’t agree on many things.” His knuckles whitened on the steering wheel. “I’m the youngest, but I inherited the Alpha gene and took over leadership. I changed many of the rules my father had implemented. Some of his practices were… inhumane.”
And your brother didn’t like that?”
“No. We’ve argued about it constantly. He believes in the old ways.”
What about your mother?”
Augustin sighed. “She agrees with him on some matters, not all. She’s… disappointed that I haven’t avenged my father’s death. In her eyes, that makes me weak.”
I snorted. “If you’re considered weak, I’d hate to know what they think strength is.”
“Brutality, mostly,” he replied grimly.
“Do you know who killed your father?” I asked cautiously.
His grip tightened on the wheel again. ‘Fang,” he said tightly. “He claims my father trespassed into his pack territory under the pretense of touring. I don’t believe it.”
“My brother Evanth waged war against Fang after our father’s death, but he wasn’t prepared. He failed, and both he and my mother hate me for not joining and leading the charge.”
Augustin’s scent had turned bitter with old anger and regret. “My father took Fang’s mother as a tribute when Fang was young. His dad went crazy because of it, which forced Fang to step up as Alpha way before he was ready. Then father tried to force Fireland to pay taxes to him, just as Forestvale and parts of Lakeside did. Fireland refused, and my father attacked. Fang eventually retaliated and killed him.”
He glanced at me, his expression conflicted. “I understand Fang’s anger. That’s why I wouldn’t join my brother’s revenge quest. The cycle has to break
somewhere.”
“But my mother and brother resent that Fang still lives.”
“Evanth believes he should be Alpha King, despite lacking the gene. He tried to have me dethroned through the council of elders.” He shook his head.
“First of all, he’s your brother. How could he treat you like that? And second, someone without alpha bloodline obviously can’t become the Alpha King. That’s not something you get to decide. I said, feeling irritated by his family’s baseless accusations against him.
