Chapter 16 Break Sharon’s Legs
Caesar replied with a confused face, “I’m not.”
He thought, ‘Wait, could she be Justin’s girlfriend?”
Sharon looked a little awkward. She forced a smile and muttered to herself, ‘Oh, wrong
guy.”
She had no idea what kind of card Zanker had handed her, but now it looked like the real owner had shown up at her doorstep.
Just then, she suddenly remembered that Zanker mentioned he won the card in a bet.
When Zanker said so, she thought he was just joking. But now, it seemed totally true. She sighed inwardly, ‘A card with a sketchy backstory. Bro, you really screwed me over.”
Sharon pressed her lips together, her sweet face caught in a tangle of emotions.
The female clerk seemed to pick up on something. She stared at Sharon and asked, ” Miss, may I ask how exactly you obtained that card?”
From her point of view, Caesar didn’t find the card. She guessed Sharon had picked it up off the street and used it at the hotel.
Caesar cut in. “I think this is a misunderstanding. Never mind, I’ll just get another room.’
Being the gentleman he was, he couldn’t bring himself to boot a beautiful girl like that. It just wasn’t his style.
Sharon watched him walk away, feeling a little annoyed. She cursed in her mind, Zanker, you’re such a pain in the ass.”
Sharon turned back into the room. Martin walked over and asked, “Who was that just now?”
“A hotel clerk,” she replied without blinking.
Alyssa, now full and satisfied, piped up, “Sharon, all this is free, right? They didn’t come to collect the bill, did they?”
“Yeah,” Sharon said, brushing it off.
Sharon then went to the side, pulled out her phone, and fired off a few messages to Zanker asking about the VIP card. However, she got no reply.
She set the phone down and wondered when her brothers would show up. She felt like waiting for them got her really bored.
The next day, Alyssa received a call, and she shouted, “Sharon, someone from the Vance family wants to talk to you.”

Sharon walked out and picked up the phone. “Hello?”
“Sharon, it’s Karen. I guess you must be bored stuck in the hotel. Let’s talk okay?” Karen offered.
Sharon hung up right then and there without one more word.
She didn’t see the point of talking with Karen. Things had already blown up between them, and Sharon knew Karen couldn’t possibly be for anything good.
Sharon thought she wasn’t that bored, and only a fool would keep walking into a trap.
She figured that she might as well filter through some missions on the black market. In the best case, she could find something close to Aerions.
“You just hunos
up? Was Karen asking us to move back?” Alyssa asked.
Alyssa feared people in the Vance family, but that didn’t stop her from fantasizing about their wealth. She’d done her research online recently and realized just how filthy rich they were. They belonged to one of the four elite families in this city.
Alyssa believed that if Sharon was admitted by that family, maybe their life would be greatly improved.
“I don’t know. She talks too much nonsense,” Sharon said.
Karen’s rambling tone annoyed Sharon, and she didn’t have the patience for that crap.
Sharon walked off like it was no big deal. Alyssa, though, tugged Martin’s sleeve, clearly wanting to strategize. She screamed inwardly, ‘That was the Vance family. How could that brat just turn them down?”
Martin’s face stayed cold, and he replied, “Ms. Vance can do as she pleases. It’s her business.
After witnessing Roxanne’s wrath, Martin didn’t want Sharon to go back to that family again and have her engagement stolen on top of that. He actually thought Sharon made the right call.
In truth, Sharon just hated trouble.
Meanwhile, Karen was losing her mind over the dial tone.
She cursed in her mind, ‘That bitch has the nerve to hang up on me? I tried to throw her a lifeline, and Sharon spat on it. She really pissed me off.
‘If I didn’t need her to cooperate on the engagement cancellation, I wouldn’t even bother talking to that country bumpkin.
With a few screeches of brakes, several luxury cars pulled up outside Atlantis Hotel.
A group of tall men stepped out, along with a stunning, fashion–forward woman who looked absolutely furious. She said coldly, “Karen, you’re here too? So the info must be
true.”

“Mrs. Janelle Dolan, nice to see you.” Karen greeted the woman.
Seeing people in the Dolan family show up, Karen instantly knew what was going on. She knew they wouldn’t let Sharon off that easily.
The next second, Karen put on a conflicted expression. “Mrs. Dolan, Sharon just came from her hometown. She doesn’t know the rules and accidentally hurt Garrett. Please don’t stoop to her level.”

“Don’t stoop to her level?” Janelle let out a cold laugh. “Fine, I’ll break her legs, and
then we’ll call it even.”
“Please, Mrs. Dolan.” Karen bit her lip, looking worried.
Karen thought, Janelle is notoriously hard to deal with. If she hadn’t shown up in person, I could’ve stayed out of it. But now, I can’t pretend I didn’t see anything, or it’ll
ruin my reputation.”
“You don’t need to worry, Karen,” Janelle said. “After I break her legs, I’ll send her to the hospital for treatment. She’s a Vance, after all.
“I won’t disregard the bond between our two families. But I will teach that girl some manners. She needs to learn who she can’t offend in this city.”
It had already been a while since the incident. The Vance family had sent people to visit Garrett, but Sharon; the main culprit, hadn’t shown her face even once.
Janelle thought bitterly, ‘Does she think we are pushovers? A wild bumpkin dares to lay hands on my son? If this gets out, what kind of joke would we become?‘
Janelle held her luxury handbag and strode into the hotel with righteous fury. A moment ago, she hadn’t been completely sure if the brat was staying here, but now, she was nearly certain..
However, one thing did make her curious. ‘How did that wild girl even get a room here? Didn’t this hotel blacklist the Vance family?”
Janelle headed straight for Room 808 on the top floor. One of her bodyguards pounded heavily on the door. Alyssa opened it and asked, “Who are you? You got the wrong room again?”
Janelle replied, “I didn’t. Get Sharon out here. I have something to say to her.”
Alyssa took a look at the stylish woman and her group of bodyguards. She thought,’ She looks wealthy and even brought so many people. She’s clearly here to stir up trouble.’
Alyssa slammed the door shut and hurriedly turned around, shouting, “Martin, we’ve got a problem. Someone’s here for Sharon. Looks like she caused trouble.”
“Did you see who it was?” asked Martin.

“No, but that woman looks fierce. We can’t afford to get on her bad side. Get Sharon to handle her mess. This isn’t our problem,” Alyssa urged.
Martin frowned. ‘Keep it from Sharon for now. Her brothers haven’t returned yet. We can’t let Sharon get into trouble.”
Then he opened the door and looked straight at the woman. “Ma’am, may I ask what business you have with Ms. Vance?”
Janelle snapped, “Who the hell are you? You think you’re qualified to speak to me? Bring out Sharon, or I won’t be so nice to you.”
“Ms. Vance is not here right now,” replied Martin.
Janelle ordered, “Search the place. I want to see how long that bitch thinks she can hide. Hurt my son, and she gotta pay the price.”
At that moment, Martin realized who she was–Garrett’s mother.
He wondered, ‘She finally came. What should I do? I can’t even reach the young masters‘
The black–clad bodyguards barged into the suite. Alyssa’s shriek came from inside. Martin furrowed his brow but said nothing.
Soon, the guards came out and reported, “Ma’am, she’s not in the room.”
Alyssa followed behind, annoyed. “I told you. Who knows where that brat ran off to? You got beef with her? Take it up with her.”
“Shut up. This is none of your business,” Martin shouted at Alyssa, and it was the first time in Alyssa’s life.
Alyssa burst into sobs. “Martin, you heartless bastard! You’d protect that damn girl over your own children, huh?”
Janelle let out a snort. “Take them all back. I don’t believe I won’t find her eventually. If that brat doesn’t show herself, I’ll break her foster parents’s legs to settle the score.”
Alyssa let out a terrified scream. “You CAN’T do that to us.”
“I can do anything. With just one finger, I can crush you all. Hold them down,” Janelle instructed.
“Stop. Come at me. Let them go.” Sharon appeared out of nowhere. She strode toward Room 808 with a murderous glint in her eyes. Her face was ice–cold, and her gaze was sharp and brimming with killing intent.
