Damian showed no sign of panic, confidently keeping his arms wrapped around Aurora.

He felt confidem Aurora would see through this ridiculous act. Surely she would fall for such an obvious play.
But reality slapped Nathaniel hard across the face when Aurora didn’t question Damian at all. Instead, she delivered Nathaniel an ultimatum,||
“Nathaniel, what happens between Damian and me is none of your damn business, I trust him more than I could ever trust you. At least he doesn’t pretend to be trapped with me while secretly fucking his aunt behind my back.

Aurora’s gaze shifted to Felicia, who glared back with naked hatred. With that woman in the picture, there could never be anything between her and Nathaniel again.

Remembering Aurora’s goodbye letter and those hand–drawn divorce papers, Nathaniel refused to accept that she had truly abandoned him
He wiped the blood from his mouth and approached Aurora step by step, his face breaking into the smile that once made her heart race
But Aurora only felt pity for her former self–what a fool she’d been. Looking at Nathaniel now, she realized he’d always known exactly what she loved about him, but he simply hasn’t cared
He’d let her stumble along behind him, bloodied and bruised, without ever glancing back to see her suttering ||
If Nathaniel had been the carrot dangling in front of her, then Aurora had been the donkey–pathetically, thoroughly fooled.||
