“Hmm. Maybe you need to clear up some your schedule a little and have a proper rest. Fatigue can take that symptoms as
well.”
Dr. Edwards explained finally understanding what was going on.
“I see.” Adora felt ashamed with all the number of eyes watching her. How can she make such a mistake?
Sebastian shielded her with his body, drawing her into his arms. She took that chance to bury her face into his arms, hiding
from the crowd.
“I apologize for wasting your time.”
Sebastian bit back an amused smile on guide her out of the hospital still shielding her with his body.
Standing in front of the windows on the sixth floor, Hilary observed Sebastian and Adora leaving the hospital hand in hand like a romantic couple. He didn’t need to ask to know whether they are happy with each other or not.
“How long would you take to figure out the person behind this, Hilary? I was almost murdered but you don’t seem to even
care!”
Lying on the hospital bed, Rose had both of her hands covered in plaster casts with a bandage around her head, her face red and swollen beyond recognition. But that didn’t prevent her from talking.
“I bet my two cents it’s Sebastian. I just can’t find any evidence connecting to him. He’s not an easy prey, Rose. Why don’t you just focus on getting better and leave the rest to me?” Hilary replied without looking at her.
“Hilary, are you mad at me?” He rolled his eyes finally taking his eyes off the lovey dovey couple turned around to face her.
“Have you forgotten who saved your life? Don’t tell me you’re still thinking about that bitch, Adora?”
“Listen, I can’t stop you from thinking about your insecurities, there’s nothing I can do about that. But I have better things to deal with at the Lynch Enterprise, I need to leave. Get better soon, Rose”
He didn’t wait for her reply nor even spare her another glance as he walked through the door slamming it after him.
“Hilary! Hilary come back here! How dare you treat me like this!”
Rose croaked, her voice scratchy in her throat as she tried to scream but failed. Her cheeks throbbed from stretching them in
her attempt.
“Let him go, Rose. I think he just needed time to sort his thoughts. You should be cautious how you treat him, he just stumbled across Adora in the lobby not long ago.” Her mother persuaded her, she had witnessed Hilary’s dramatic exit and came to check what was going on.
“Hilary met Adora? Does that bitch dares to defy me after all that warning? Seems like she haven’t learned her lesson yet.”
Crippled and bonded to her bed, Rose could only stew in her anger with nothing she could do.

Chapter 35
In the backseat of the black Land Rover, Adora rested her head on Sebastian’s shoulder. “I messed up again.” She mumbled
under her breath.
Her stupidity in the hospital kept replaying in her head, over and over again. Until she remembered something, she raised her head and glanced at Sebastian with furrowed brows.
“Huh, why did that nurse called me a baby? I’m a legal adult, and after what happened in the hotel that night, it’s right for me to think I was pregnant.”
Adora tried to recall what happened on their first night. The bedsheets were clean apart from the lip stains, and she didn’t feel any pain between her legs that day. But she was covered in hickeys and woke up naked beside a man, she naturally assumed they had sex.
“We didn’t happen anything at that night, right?”
Sebastian peered into her eyes, but remained silent. Adora’s memories of that night was blurred, she only recalled patches of what happened, not all of it. She was sexy and vulnerable, he could have easily taken advantage of her.
“Adora, you might not know how to protect yourself. But I have to know that.”
Sebastian answered her in honest. It would be a lie to say he wasn’t tempted, but Adora’s was drugged and he wouldn’t take advantage of the situation. In order to save them both, he ended up knocking her out.
He really didn’t expect her to declare him as her fiance to the public the next day she woke up. Sebastian selfishly played along and agreed to got engaged.
“You knew we didn’t have sex yet, then why did you admit just now that I am pregnant and the child is yours. You should be very clear that if I am pregnant, the child will definitely not be yours.” Adora’s confusion only increased.
“The moment we got engaged, Adora, our future has been sealed together. I would be responsible for you from now on. What happened in the past stays in the past, Kitten.”
Adora pursed her lips to prevent them from trembling, yet her eyes reddened and soon tears started rolling down her check.
“Woah! What’s wrong? Why are you crying?”
Sebastian wiped away the tears, wondering what he did or said that made her mad.
“It’s too early for you to say that to me Sebastian.” Adora whispered in–between tears.
Sebastian readily agreed, not that he understood what she meant, but anything to make the tears stop. But they never did. He finally leaned down and kissed the tears from her cheeks, gradually moving down to her lips. The kiss deepened, the tears stopping at some point, he only parted when she was breathless and panting.
