Valerie’s POV
I watched as her facial expression quickly changed from arrogant to something else–something softer, almost vulnerable. She blinked a few times, trying to force tears to well up. Before she glanced up at Dante with a sad look on her face.
“Oh Dante, I… I didn’t know where else to go,” she said with a small voice that trembled. “I’ve lost everything, Dante. And now I’m all alone.”
She slumped her shoulders, trying to look as miserable as possible. However, Dante just watched her with a hard expression on his face. Her face fell in dismay. “I never wanted to hurt you, and I’m so sorry. I know that sorry is not enough to fix the wrong I did.” Claire continued, “And I understand if you haven’t forgiven me. But please, I just need a place to stay for a little while. I’ve nowhere else to go, and…. I know I messed up, Dante, but please… Can you help me?”
Dante clenched his jaw and his eyes narrowed, as he watched her. I could see that he was fighting a battle within himself. He glanced at me, as though looking for answers from me.
I could see that he wanted to help, because he was a good person, but Claire had hurt him too much. I knew I might regret it later in the future, but I nodded subtly at him.
Dante furrowed his eyebrows at me. He looked surprised that I had agreed. He glanced at Claire, then at me, and I nodded again to let him know that I was okay with it. I felt no form of insecurity, so I wasn’t worried.
Finally, he released a deep sigh. “I don’t owe you anything, Claire,” He said coldly. “The only reason I’m giving you this chance is because of Valerie, my Luna.”
Claire’s eyes widened slightly at his words, but she quickly hid it. Instead, she smiled in relief, but her eyes sparkled with satisfaction and triumph.
“Thank you, Dante. You don’t know how much this means to me. I’ll be good, I promise. I just need a little time to sort myself out.”
She stepped closer to him, as though to give a hug, but Dante glared at her fiercely and walked past her to give me a hug and a kiss.
“Hello, my love,” He greeted softly, and together both of us walked into the house, leaving her standing outside.
I didn’t know Claire’s intentions for coming here now, but only time would tell.
The next day, her intentions were very clear to me. She wanted Dante back. She put on very revealing clothes, and kept looking for his attention.
I watched in amusement as Dante blatantly ignored all her advances as though he were completely oblivious to them all. I could see how it frustrated her, but she didn’t give up.
“Dante, could you please get me a new set of underwear? Mine are already worn–out. I’m sure you remember my size.” She told Dante, when he was leaving to address some matters in the pack.
Dante scowled at her. “Do I look like your errand boy?” He snapped at her. “And I’ve told you to
3:38 pm
stop calling me Dante. I am Alpha Dante.”

Her face flushed red in embarrassment as she nodded mutely, and kept her eyes on the floor.
Dante turned to be with a soft expression on his face. “My love, is there anything I can get you
on my way back?” He asked, his eyes sparkling with amusement.
I could feel Claire’s glare on me, even till Dante left. She turned to me with a sneer.
“I don’t know who you think you are, but you better back off! Dante is mine!” She snarled
I shrugged nonchalantly, ignored her and walked off.
