Chapter 14
Nancy shook her head frantically. “You don’t mean all these things, Jerry. I love you! And I know you love me too!”
Jerry laughed bitterly. “Love you? When? What gave you that stupid idea?!” He barked.
Nancy scoffed. “You were always there for me. The moment I called, you always came running. You took me to the alphas conference that you were supposed to go to with your mate. You stole your mate’s work for me. What do you think about that?”
Jerry snorted at her. “The only reason I did all those things was just because I wanted to get between your legs.” He told her bluntly.
Her mouth gaped open, and her face fell in dismay. “But…”
Jerry cut her off. “I wanted to get between your legs. I saw how you always looked at me, and I knew that it would be so easy, all you needed was a little bit of attention, and it was so easy.”
Then he scowled, running a hand through his hair. “I just never thought that Valerie would leave me like this. I had thought it would be so easy to get her to forgive me after I was done. I never knew she was going to leave me for some other person who wasn’t her fated mate.” He admitted bitterly.
His words pierced through Nancy, and she shook her head hysterically in disbelief.
“No, you… you… you’re lying. You lying bastard!” She shrieked. “No! You love me!”
Jerry cackled maniacally. “I never cared about you!” He declared.
Nancy gave him a bitter smile. “Well, all these don’t matter. Valerie has left you, whatever now is pointless.” She taunted him.

Then she smirked. “Guess what? On the day of our fake wedding ceremony, I sent a link to watch the video of our wedding.” She revealed. “She watched as you exchanged vows with me and kissed me. It was so easy for her to choose to leave because I was fueling it.”
Jerry snapped, and with a roar, he lunged at Nancy, and had beaten her ruthlessly. Nobody was around to save her, as Jerry beat her half–dead.
Astrid told me that Nancy was beaten to a pulp by Jerry, and nothing could be done against him because he was the alpha of the pack.
I felt bad for Astrid, but I knew she deserved it. She had deceived so many people just for attention, she had wanted to steal my mate from me, and now she was reaping the
consequences.

Claire was getting relentless in her pursuit to get Dante back. It was getting painful to watch as Dante acted like she didn’t exist. She was getting more desperate as the day of the wedding ceremony got closer.
“Dante is mine!” She kept repeating over and over to me. Finally, she got so desperate that she tried to kill me instead.
I was lounging in the living room, when the hairs on the back of my neck rose. I furrowed my

eyebrows in confusion. I whirled around, and the silver dagger that was aimed at the back of my neck missed me by a few inches.
Before I could react, she redirected the dagger, and plunged into my stomach. I inhaled sharply as pain coursed through me. I pressed my hand against my stomach, to reduce the bleeding.
“I warned you to stay away from Dante. I told you he was mine. You ignored my warning. This is what you get.” Claire cackled manically.
I breathed heavily, feeling hopeless. Dante had gone out an hour ago, and he wasn’t going to be back anytime soon. I could feel my life draining away quickly. In my half–dead state, I wondered how Claire was going to explain what had happened.
