Chapter 10
The next day, I told Dante that I was finally ready to be introduced to the pack, to his family and everyone else. My past was fully behind now, and I had to focus on my future Dante.
–
He was so ecstatic. He organized a feast for the whole pack to introduce me as his Luna–to–be. I was very anxious because it was also the first time I would be meeting his parents. I had no idea of what to expect from them. Would they like me? I wondered to myself anxiously.
The feast was being held in a very large hall. But I was skeptical. What type of hall could contain the thousands of werewolves in the Crescent Moon pack?
When I asked Dante, on our way to the feast, he just gave me a small smile and shrugged.
“You’ll see,” He said simply.
When we got there, I furrowed my eyebrows in confusión. The hall was big, but it was definitely not big enough to hold over six thousand werewolves that were in the pack.
However, my mouth gaped open when we entered the hall. It was incredibly large from the inside. My mind struggled to understand how it was possible. I turned to Dante with my mouth open, and he chuckled heartily.
“It’s magic. We employed the services of some witches. The hall adjusts to what we need.” He informed me with a grin.
As I sat beside Knox’s chair at the high table, I began fidgeting under the table as we waited for people to arrive. Finally, when the time came, Dante stood up. Immediately, the hall fell silent. It was astonishing how commanding Dante’s presence was. My heart raced in my chest as I waited for him to introduce me. I barely heard the speech he gave as I anxiously waited.
“Your new Luna, Valerie Hayes” He announced proudly, stretching forth his hand out towards me for me to come forward. Everyone burst into applause and cheers at his words.
I stood up slowly, avoiding all the eyes on me as I kept my eyes on Dante’s soft and encouraging eyes. The applause increased, causing me to flush red in slight embarrassment.
Immediately Dante was done with his announcement, several pack members approached me to congratulate me
Finally, I met Dante’s parents. They had arrived late due to some delay.
“Dad, Mom.” Dante called, when they reached our table, “This is Valerie,”
Mrs. Garcia’s face split with a very wide smile, and she ignored my hand that I had stretched for a handshake, instead she engulfed me in a warm hug.
“Oh my dear, it’s so good to finally meet you.” She squealed in joy, “Dante won’t stop talking about you since he met you at that restaurant.” She told me.
“Oh come on, Mom.” Dante groaned, and we both laughed at the disgruntled look on his face.
Mr. Garcia was a man of very few words. We shook hands, and he gave me a warm smile, “It’s good to meet you.”
I nodded sincerely. “It’s good to also meet you, sir.” I replied.

Mrs. Garcia and I spent a very long time chatting. I glanced around to look for Dante. He was chatting animatedly with Mr. Garcia. He had a small smile on his face as he nodded along to what his father was saying.
The moment he caught my eyes, his eyes brightened, and his smile widened as he gave me a wink. I gave him a small wave and turned back to Mrs. Garcia.
“You’re good for him.” She said abruptly with a smile on her face
I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion, and she chuckled heartily.
“Nothing, it’s just so good to see my son so happy. After the incident with Claire, his ex–mate, he was so unhappy and bitter. It broke my heart to see him in that state. Until he came back one evening with a smile on his face and a sparkle in his eyes, ranting over how he had met an angel”
I blushed furiously, and she laughed..
“It brought hope to my heart that my son will be happy again.” She added with a warm smile.
When the feast was finally coming to an end and Dante’s parents were leaving, Dante and
escorted them outside.
“I have something for you.” Mrs. Garcia said to me, and she rummaged through a bag to bring out a jewellery box. I collected it from her and gently opened it.
My eyes widened in disbelief as I stared at the necklace inside. It was a gorgeous necklace, made of fine silver and a smooth, oval–shaped onyx stone at its center.
“This has been passed down for generations from one Luna to the next. I was hesitant to give it to Claire because I wasn’t certain of her intentions, and I was glad I hesitated. But you are different, and you have a good heart. You deserve it.”
“Thank you, Mrs. Garcia.” I greeted.
She waved her hand dismissively. “None of that, call me Linda.”
When Dante’s parents finally left, Dante wrapped his arm around my shoulder with a grin. “See, I told you that they would love you. You had nothing to be anxious about.” He boasted.
