Chapter 47
About ten minutes later, Farah arried a cup of coffee to Zvonimir’s room. Seeing him step out of the bathroom, she quickly flashed a sweet and endearing smile.
“Zvonimir.” She called his name softly as she handed him the cup of coffee.
Zvonimir took the cup, sniffed it slightly, and coldly asked, “There’s nothing wrong with this coffee, is there? No drugs, for example?‘
Farah’s hands trembled slightly as she clenched the hem of her dress, but her face maintained a submissive smile. “Zvonimir, what are you talking about? I don’t understand.”
“Really?” Zvonimir’s handsome face showed a hint of regret before he suddenly raised his hand and tossed the coffee into the trash
can.
The smile on Farah’s face instantly vanished.
Zvonimir slouched onto the sofa in a lazy posture, a mocking smile playing on his lips. “You know I like obedient and intelligent female wolves, don’t you? As you can see, I’m quite fed up with Rishima’s stubbornness.”
“Zvonimir, I…” Farah’s face turned pale, her hands clenched tightly as she began to stutter.
Although Zvonimir’s tone and expression remained as gentle as ever, the depths of his eyes held a chilling coldness and mockery that struck fear deep into Farah’s heart.
At this moment, Farah had an intense intuition: if she didn’t take the initiative to admit her mistake, Zvonimir would immediately tell her to get out!
Without hesitation, Farah moved closer to Zvonimir, sobbing as she said, “I’m so sorry, Zvonimir, I was wrong. Last night, I shouldn’t have spiked your coffee with aphrodisiacs…”
“Why did you do that?” Zvonimir interrupted her cries.
Tears streamed down Farah’s face as she looked at Zvonimir, then shyly admitted, “Because I… I was too impatient. I wanted to quickly conceive your wolf cub. But…”
She bit her lip, lowered her head, her tear–streaked eyelashes trembling, and her pale face evoked a sense of pity from any male wolf who saw her.
Zvonimir was no exception. He lifted her chin and asked, “But what?”
Farah’s heart leaped with joy, though outwardly she maintained a sorrowful expression: “You don’t want to mate with me, so how can I give birth to your cub? I was desperate, so I had no choice but to spike your coffee with aphrodisíacs… Zvonimir, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to! Please don’t be angry with me, okay?”
Zvonimir stared at her for a few seconds before suddenly smiling and saying, “You did this because you thought it was for my and Silverfang’s benefit, so of course, I won’t be angry with you. But you should know, I prefer a submissive and obedient female wolf over one who fancies herself clever.”
Farah quickly nodded, “Zvonimir, from now on, I’ll listen to you and obey.”
“Then tell me, from whom did you get the aphrodisiac?”
Farah had intended to lie, but when she met Zvonimir’s sharp gaze, she dared not conceal the truth and hesitantly confessed, “I

went to Dr. Richard.”
Zvonimir narrowed his eyes slightly. “When you told him you wanted the drug, he handed it over immediately?”
Of course not.
Farah trembled, her palms damp with cold sweat, and cautiously replied, “I lied to him, saying that a friend of mine had asked me to get it. He said he was willing to help because I’m your future mate, so he gave me the drug.”
Zvonimir didn’t question Farah’s explanation. Walking toward the bed, he said, “Alright, you may leave now.”
Farah couldn’t discern what Zvonimir was thinking, but her only thought was to immediately find Richard to figure out a way to salvage her situation. “Alright, Zvonimir, please rest well.”
After Farah left, Zvonimir couldn’t resist calling Rishima once again.
This time, she finally answered the phone.
