Chapter 18
Felix furrowed his eyebrows. “The budget file. The one I told you to review. I need to prepare everything before-”
Bella chuckled lightly, wiping her fake tears away. “Felix! I’m your Luna, not your damn secretary. You’re so funny dear.”
He stared at her in disbelief. “I didn’t ask you to do much I just asked you to review it. You’re supposed to be involved in the pack’s decisions as the Luna” Bella waved a hand dismissively, walking toward the mirror in his office to fix her hair. “Relax, you’re stressing too much. It’s not a huge deal.”
Felix pinched the bridge of his nose. “Bella, the pack is running low on finances. We need to review a lot of things. If we don’t-”
“I need money,” she cut in suddenly, pouting at him. “I want to buy those diamond earrings I saw yesterday at the market, and a new dress for our mating ceremony. I can’t repeat the same one I wore that day, everyone has already seen me on it. I’m Luna, not a peasant.”
Felix stared at her, completely dumbfounded. “Are you even listening to me? Bella, I’m talking about a serious issue here.”
She turned toward him, crossing her arms. “What? So am I!”
He clenched his jaw. “I’m talking about running low on finances, and you’re talking about diamond earrings and dresses when you can’t even review the budget. Jade does all these things and even more without any fuss!”
She scowled. “Why are you yelling at me like this? Is this because of her?”
Felix frowned. “What?”
“You know exactly who I mean,” she hissed. “Jade. Is she the reason you’re yelling at me?”
Felix growled. “I only brought her up because you’re acting like her opposite in every way. She actually gave a damn about the pack. She worked. She helped. You just complain, spend money, and cause chaos everywhere!”
Bella’s expression darkened. “You son of a bitch.” She sneered. “Are you saying that she’s better than me?”
“I didn’t say that,” he snapped.
“You didn’t have to!” she shouted, “You’ve been comparing me to that pathetic omega since the day she left!”

“Jade was an omega, but she was so damn efficient!” he roared, finally losing his patience. “All you do is cause problems and spend money. We are drowning in debt, Bella! And you’re busy crying over dresses, and diamond earrings!”
Bella sneered at him. “Fine. If I’m such a burden, then figure out your mess
alone.”
She turned and stormed out, slamming the door behind her hard.
Felix remained standing there breathing heavily as he stared at the door.
A message pinged on his phone. He reluctantly checked it, and a small smile crossed his lips. It was an email from one of their business partners. He loved the proposal that had been sent to him earlier, and would love to speak more
about it with Jade.
Excitement surged through him. He couldn’t wait to get home and tell Jade the good news, and watch her eyes light up with joy, and–wait.
Felix blinked as reality came crashing down. He ran a hand through his hair as his chest ached. He remembered how hard Jade had worked on that proposal.
He glanced at the message again, and this time there was no happiness in his heart, all he felt was emptiness.
Since Jade left, there had been a void in his heart that he couldn’t fill. The more
he thought about it, the more he realized that he missed her.
He missed her loving care, and he missed her smart thinking.
He missed the meals she prepared for him, because now, he ate the food made by omegas, and they didn’t know his likes and dislikes like Jade.
He missed the massages she gave him whenever he came back stressed.
Another message pinged on his phone again. This time, it was a message from Bella.
She had sent him a picture of diamond earrings, and two dresses. Soon, a debit notification popped on his phone.
His grip tightened on the phone, and he gritted his teeth.
Henry’s words echoed in his mind again, and at that moment Felix realized his terrible mistake.
He needed Jade back. Bella could go to hell for all he cared.
