Chapter 17
Felix rubbed his fingers against his temples. His head was aching. A migraine was definitely coming, and the pack member complaining in front of him wasn’t helping matters.
“She slapped my mate in front of the pups,” the man said, clenching his jaw in anger. “All because my mate stepped into the hallway at the wrong time. She called her useless and threatened to ban her from the pack.”
Felix exhaled slowly. This was the sixth complaint about Bella this week, and it was only Thursday.
He leaned back in his chair, “I understand, Morris. I’ll speak to her about it.”
Morris looked like he wanted to say more, but he held back. “With all due respect, Alpha,” he said carefully, “This is getting out of hand. The pack is starting to talk. Some are saying-” he paused, then he shook his head, deciding that whether he wanted to say wasn’t worth it.
Felix’s jaw tensed.
Morris bowed and took his leave.
Felix’s mind raced. What was Morris about to say? What were the pack members saying?
Someone knocked on the door almost immediately after Morris left, and Felix groaned in frustration. If only Jade were here, she would have handled all these easily.
“Come in,” he barked, annoyance filled his voice.
An elderly man walked in with a scowl on his face. “Alpha,” he said gruffly. This was Henry, a pack elder. “Your Luna just dissolved the elders‘ council. She called us a bunch of expired assholes.”
Felix’s stomach turned.
Oh no. He thought to himself. What the hell was Bella doing?
He stared at Henry for a moment, then he sighed. “I’ll take care of it. Don’t worry, Henry. You know that Bella is still new to this Luna role. She’s still learning.”
Henry lifted an eyebrow unimpressed, “Really? Let me be honest with you, alpha. Bella is not Luna material. She’s rude, disrespectful, and cares for nobody but herself,”

Felix clenched his jaw at Henry’s tone, but Henry wasn’t done.
“A lot of us keep wondering what you were thinking when you chose Bella over Jade.” He added.
Felix growled, narrowing his eyes at Henry as annoyance flared within him.“Be careful how you speak to me, Henry. I am your Alpha.”
Henry gave Felix an unreadable look, before he bowed and turned to leave. Just as he got to the door, he looked at Felix over his shoulder.
“She’ll run this pack to the ground if you’re not careful.” he said coldly.
A chill ran down Felix’s spine at Henry’s foreboding words. “Get the hell out of my office, before I banish you from the pack for insubordination!” Felix snarled.
Henry’s words kept ringing in Felix’s head several minutes after he left, no matter how much Felix tried to shake it off.
There was a knock again, Felix didn’t bother lifting his head.
“What now?” he muttered.
Bella’s voice answered, “That’s not a nice way to greet your Luna.”
Felix looked up slowly.
She stood in the doorway with a small smile on her face. “Hello love,”
He clenched his jaw, staring at her for a long time before finally speaking. “What are you doing, Bella?”
She blinked in confusion. “Excuse me?”
“Several complaints have reached me on your attitude towards several pack members. You’re treating the pack members like they’re your enemies. You’re their Luna, you’re supposed to care for them, not insult and humiliate them.”
“They don’t respect me, Felix. You want me to sit back and let them walk all over me” She replied.
Felix opened his mouth to reply, but Bella started crying, cutting off his response.
“I can feel their judgy eyes on me, Felix. They hate me because I’m not Jade. They don’t want me as their Luna. I don’t know what to do!” She cried.
He groaned internally. He was getting tired of the frequent crying. Whenever he tried to confront her about anything, she burst into tears. It was exhausting. Jade was never this dramatic.
He sighed. “I’m sure they don’t hate you, Bella.” He said gently, holding her

Bella smirked when Felix wasn’t looking. He really was wrapped around her
finger.
“Have you finished with that file that I gave you?” Felix asked after a moment of
silence.
Bella blinked up at him, then tilted her head in confusion. “What file?”
