Chapter 16
Bella glared at him with tear–filled eyes. “You have barely said a word to me since we got here, and I saw you frantically looking for her things around the house. What’s going on, Felix? I thought you said that she was nothing to you, that you were just using her to get some things done.”
Felix nodded his head, holding her shoulders gently, “Yes, baby, that’s true. Believe me.” He said softly.
Bella shook her head in reply, “I thought you said that I was the one you wanted? Don’t you want me anymore?” she cried.
Felix forced a smile, even though his mind was miles away. He tucked Bella’s hair behind her ear and whispered, “Of course I want you. You’re the one I chose, remember? You’re here with me now. Jade is gone.”
Bella sniffled, lowering her gaze. “Then why are you acting like this? You keep drifting off.”
Felix sighed, rubbing his hand over his face. “I’m just… overwhelmed, that’s all. The alphas didn’t come for the mating ceremony, and the ceremony didn’t hold, and…” He trailed off. He had almost mentioned Jade.
“But I’m with you now. That’s what matters.” He said instead/
He cupped her face and kissed her forehead gently. “Come on,” he added with forced warmth, “Let me help you unpack and settle into your new home, alright?”
Bella blinked away the last of her fake tears and nodded slowly.
Felix wrapped an arm around her and guided her to the bedroom.
“Felix?” Bella said softly.
“Hm?”
“I love you” she told him, giving him a soft smile.
He forced another smile as he replied. “I love you too.”
Something was wrong with him. He had gotten exactly what he wanted. Bella was here. The person he had been in love with for years, while pretending to love Jade.
So why did every second without Jade feel like something was missing?
He didn’t miss her, did he? That was impossible. He had never really loved her. She had just been a convenience.

Bella watched him silently as he packed, folding her arms. When Felix turned away, she smirked slyly.
She had finally gotten what she wanted, after all these years. She was the Luna of this pack, and she had Felix wrapped around her finger.
All that was left now was for him to forget Jade completely. She knew it wouldn’t take long.
Or at least, that was what she thought.
Jade released a deep breath as she stepped into the reception hall.
The mating ceremony was over. She was officially Luna.
A gentle music was being played from somewhere near the back, and laughter echoed across the hall as werewolves from different packs mingled with one
another.
Jade stood beside Rowan. He had his arm wrapped gently around her waist. He hadn’t stopped smiling since the ceremony ended. His pack members, and friends kept glancing at him with surprised looks on their faces. They had never seen him look this ecstatic before.
“You look like you’ve just conquered a kingdom,” she teased quietly.
He leaned in and murmured huskily. “I feel like I have.”
Jade flushed, as warmth bloomed in her chest.
Alphas and Lunas from other packs approached them to offer their congratulations and words of honor. They bowed with deep respect as they offered gifts.
A small smile crossed her lips. She wasn’t just Rowan’s mate. She was Luna of the Red Moon pack now.
“Alpha Rowan, Luna Jade,” a familiar voice called from the crowd.
Jade turned to see Jim, the head of the Healer’s Sanctum, walking towards them with a wide smile on his face.
Jade smiled warmly. “Jim!”
He bowed slightly as he reached them. “I almost didn’t recognize you, Luna,” he said with a chuckle. “You’re glowing like the goddess herself.”
Jade laughed. “Thank you for your kind words.”

“I’m being honest,” he corrected gently, “And you don’t know how happy I am that you’ll soon start with us. The Healer’s Sanctum has been needing someone like you for years now,”
Jade grinned, “Thank you, Jim.”
He nodded. “We’ve prepared everything for you. We’ll give you a few days to settle into your Luna duties.”
After Jim left, Rowan leaned closer to her. “How do you feel?” He asked softly.
She grinned up at him, her eyes gleaming with pure joy. “I feel complete,” she admitted without hesitation,
Rowan’s eyes brightened, and he smiled. “So do I.” He said, his eyes shining with sincerity and love.
