Chapter 27
“Argh!” She shivered, screaming in fright.
“Someone help me!”
“Adora! Adora! Where are you?”
Faints shouts from far away reached Adora’s, but all it did was spook her further. She couldn’t tell
whether it was Sebastian here for her or a ghost mimicking his voice.
Sebastian didn’t falter in his search, he went deeper and deeper into the cemetery, calling out her Adora until a faint sound of soft sobbing reached his ears. Sebastian followed the sound until it led
him to Adora who tied to an rundown tombstone.
Seeing her state, he took a deep breath to calm his raging heart. He would get back at Rose for this!
No one messes with his property and get away with it.
Carefully, Sebastian crunched to Adora’s side and untied the ropes digging into her skin.
“I’m here, Adora. You’ll be fine” He picked her up bridal style cradling her to his chest and left the
cemetery.
“I was so scared Seb.”
Realizing that it was Sebastian and not some malevolent ghost that took his form, Adora relaxed and snaked her arms around his neck, burying her head in the crook of his neck. Finally safe.
“I’m sorry Kitten, I was late.”
Sebastian rubbed her back soothingly.
“I can’t even feel my legs anymore, I don’t think I can walk.” Adora choked.
“I know. Don’t worry about that, I’ll carry you all the way back.”
The 3am breeze blew fiercely, and in the dead of night, it sounded frightening. But with Sebastian’s strong and steady heartbeat right next to hers, Adora was no longer afraid.

As they emerged from the cemetery, neither of them noticed the Bentley parked under the a large
tree at the entrance.
Hilary had hid in the dark when he saw Sebastian parked his car in a frenzy and ran into the
cemetery. He knew that Sebastian had come for Adora, so he stood behind and watch.
Hilary for a while, had felt as if something important was missing in his life. He should love Rose.
But when he heard what Rose did to Adora, Hilary paniced and had rushed over to West Mountain cemetery without thinking, then he realized he was already too late when he saw Sebastian has already arrived.
Little did Hilary knows that he was already too late in many things, although he would only find out
later in the future.
Sebastian laid Adora in the backseat. He realized she was cold and her skin had gone pale. Her eyes were squeezed tightly shut, he turned on the heat and locked the doors to keep the cold out. Adora finally relaxed as warmth seeped into her body and slowly open her eyes.
“Are you a ghost or a human?” Adora asked slightly dazed.
“Definitely not human.” Sebastian chuckled, then realized that Adora was serious when she stiffen in
his arms, moving away from him.
“I’m your supplications Adora. Whenever you need me, just call my name and wait. No matter where you are, I’ll come and get you.”
Adora nodded, her eyes fluttered close and she fell asleep. Sebastian tucked her in covering her with his jacket suit and drove to the mansion, keeping an eye on her all the way. Whatever happen, he’ll be there for her.
Mr. Greg has already assigned Sebastian’s personal doctor to stand by and immediately began to check on Adora when they arrived.
Sebastian excused himself to the balcony and dialed Alex’s number.
“Let Rosalind Rockefeller disappear from this world. I don’t want to see her ever again.” He seethed.
“Sir,” Alex pleaded, “Please think this through. If you make a rash decision at a time like this, you’ll blow up your cover. It would affect your identity.”
“I’ve had enough of this kind of words. How many times do I have to watch Adora get hurt by that bitch when I can do something about it? What type of a man does that make me?” Sebastian growled

into the speaker. He was beyond angry and Alex is doing nothing to help.
“Calm down, sir. I’ll have someone teach her a lesson. She won’t think about touching Ms Rockefeller
ever again. Sir, please keep sober now.”
Sebastian clenched and unclenched his fists, but did not replied. Finally, he hung up and walked
back to Adora’s room.
The doctor stood by the side already finished with the examination, and was waiting for Sebastian.
“How’s she doing?”
“Ms Rockefeller is exposed to the harsh wind of the night and frightened. She is coming down with a fever. I prescribed her medication, please help her take the medicine before she sleep.”
“Alright, thank you for your time, Mr Rob.” Sebastian gave him a curt nod, then turned to his butler. “Prepare a car to take him back, Mr Greg.”
The two elderly men left, leaving behind Adora and Sebastian alone in the room.
“It’s time to take medicine, kitten.” Sebastian said, helping her sitting up and supporting her with his
shoulders.
“No, I don’t like it. They are not sweet.”
“You can’t get better unless you take it, Adora.” Sebastian said exasperatedly. In his 26 years alive, he
had never done anything like coaxing a woman into taking medicines. But here he is with a stubborn Adora who shook her head vigorously, looking up at him with puppy eyes.
