Chapter 21
The father and daughter duo were not happy with this outcome at all. But what can they do? Their business only started blooming the previous year. They can not afford to have the Sterlings as their
enemy.
“Mr. Sterling, I’ll take responsibility for my daughter’s misdoings. Please forgive her for offending Ms. Rockefeller and Ms. Montgomery. I’ll remember to discipline her when we return and have her apologize to both of them in front of the entire school tomorrow.”
Sebastian glanced at Adora, who nodded in acceptance, and the two left fuming after that.
Walking hand in hand, Sebastian and Adora exited the office next.
“You are so unbelievably Seb!”
Adora gushed when they were out of the office. When her father decided to abandon her, Adora braced herself for the unjust treatment she was bound to suffer at their hands. But like a knight in shining armor, Sebastian appeared and solved everything in less than five minutes!
“You belong to me, Adora. What would I do if I failed to protect you? Let’s go back home and treat
your wound.”
But Adora dismissed his idea right away. She is going back to their home. Her father had proved he doesn’t care about her anymore. He didn’t even care whether she lived or died.
“I need to go back home. There are things I needed to settle with my parents first.”
Sebastian is ever ready to fulfill Adora’s requirements, so when she decided to visit her family, he
wasted no time in driving to that location.
It was midday, and the sun was high in the sky when they arrived at Rockefeller’s house. Adora knew her father well enough not to bring Sebastian with her inside the house unless she wanted to disgrace the both of them.
Sebastian’s self–esteem could not afford that at the moment, so Adora left him in the car and walked
up to the patio.
But just as she was about to turn the doorknob, voices from within caught her attention, and she paused. She could easily pick out her parents‘ voices from the crowd.

Chapter 21
“Just how on earth did we manage to offend the D.E Group? The CEO has been stealing away all of our wealthy clients since yesterday. It’s almost like he had a grudge against us. This is so frustrating.” Her father seethed, and Adora could picture his bulging veins.
“Do you have any idea who the CEO is?” Her mom tried calming her father down as always.
“I don’t know! No one knows. Since the empire rose to business in the last few years, many rich folks have tried to befriend the man. The funny thing is, even the media have no idea who the hell he is.”
“I see. Don’t worry, darling. We’ll have Rose bring Hilary over; he might be able to do something. Big shots surround him, after all. Everything will be solved-”
Adora slammed the door open when she was done eavesdropping. Her sudden appearance wasn’t welcomed in the slightest. Her father, already in a lousy mood, took that chance to lash out his anger
at him.
“So? What brought you back home? Came here to cry after getting kicked out of school?” Mr. Rockefeller didn’t bother concealing his anger.
There was no way she would be kicked out, her academic performance was better than Rose’s, but
none of her parents acknowledged that.
“Oh, don’t worry. The only thing that brought me here is severing all ties with you. Since you clearly don’t want me, I won’t be here either.” Adora shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly. She was already numb from all the harsh treatments all these years.
“Heh, severe all ties? What? Now you have that bastard of the Sterlings family sticking to you like the good–for–nothing he is; you’re suddenly feeling high and mighty. The creep doesn’t even have a decent job, nor does he have any plans for his future!”
He couldn’t believe his ears. Adora might have come from a wealthy family, but she didn’t have a job or much money in her bank account. Gleefully, Mr. Rockefeller drafts an agreement to sever all ties with her. He firmly believed Adora would come crawling back to them in less than a month. But in the meantime, she ought to learn her lesson.
‘Not so fast,” Adora added when she saw her father scribing down words. “Let’s talk about my belongings. I demand those handed over to me before we sign the paper. Grandfather had
transferred 30% of Rockefeller Corporation to my name when I reached adulthood before he passed away. I’m legal now. Shouldn’t you honor his Will, father?”
Her parents exchanged a glance, going silent for a moment.

Chapter 21
“You just got engaged last night, and you’re already demanding your shares?”
“I’m only taking back what’s rightfully mine. You won’t deprive me of my right, would you?” This was the ultimate reason for her visit today, so she stood her ground.
“In your dreams, Adora! Don’t you think you owe us for raising you for eighteen years? How shameless can you be?” Her father seethed, but so did Adora.
“Don’t think you can bully me and get away with it. You either hand it over now or when I consult my lawyer. We shall meet in the court.” Adora clenched her fist, suppressing her tears.
