Chapter 19
“Pretending to be brave, aren’t you? Well, spared me the trouble. Hello everybody, listen up!” Viv
shouted at the top of her voice.
“In case you haven’t heard, the high and mighty Adora Rockefeller was dumped yesterday!” Laughs
followed Viv’s loud declaration.
“Stop talking nonsense, Viv! This isn’t funny!” Bella was enraged and couldn’t contain her anger. She covered Viv’s mouth with her hand lest she spewed more lies.
This is all Hilary’s fault. Why did her friend suffer the consequences? Adora had already been hurt a
lot. Why can’t they let her go?
Viv pushed Bells to the ground before she could approach her.
“You dirty poor girl! You can’t even afford the fees and have to scramble for scholarships, yet you dare put your hands on me? A single item from my closet could sponsor your education, scum!”
Adora disliked noise and didn’t want to entertain Viv. After all, you don’t bite a dog when it bit you.
However, her aloofness was misplaced, and since Viv dared to attack Bella, no one would blame her
for fighting back.
Vivienne was feeling smug with her handiwork when Adora’s hand connected with the side of her face in e sound slap. It was so hard it left the imprint of her small hand on her face…
“Di..did you just slap me?” Vivienne said in disbelief, covering the left half of her face with one hand.
“I did, apologize to Bella, you bitch. She didn’t do anything” Adora wasn’t one to back down.
Neither did Viv. She screamed and tackled Adora in a catfight. Soon, their clothes and hair were a
mess, totally unladylike.
Although Adora was petite, she was swift and agile. That put Viv at a disadvantage.
“What are you doing? Hurry up and stop them!” Mr. Wellington bellowed. Their teacher took that
moment to arrive, startling the crowd that had gathered. No one knew when he had appeared.
The two stopped, and under Mr. Wellington’s order, they were taken to the Dean’s office.

Vivienne’s eyes were red and swollen from crying, but Adora pursed her lips, pretending not to care, and did not say a word.
“As college students, you two should be ashamed of yourselves. You aren’t kids anymore!” The Dean, Mr. Theo, slammed the door angrily, then decided calling their parents would be the easiest way to deal with them.
He rang Adora’s family first.
“Mr. Rockefeller, your youngest daughter committed a grave offense and was caught in a fight. I need you to come over, please.” The principal tone was sour.
Seeing as Adora had the first strike, she ought to be at fault.
Mr. Rockefeller has been angry over what Adora told the media the previous day. He was afraid that his daughter might have offended Hilary. Now that he was called regarding her misconduct at school, he wanted to teach her a lesson.
“Mr. Theo, when someone is caught doing wrong, they should be punished accordingly. I have always been a fair person. If Adora is guilty of her crime, you can punish her according to the regulations.”
With that, Mr. Rockefeller hung up the phone.
The Dean hung up his phone and looked at Adora with a cold stare. “Adora Rockefeller, your father refused to comply. When Vivienne’s parents arrive, be prepared to sort this out yourself.”
“What a joke! Not even your parents care about you, Adora. You’re really pitiful. Whatever gave you the courage to fight me?” Vivienne taunted, but Adora could care less about her.
Instead, she rolled her eyes. Typical of her father. He just never cares. Adora thought, turning her attention to the principal. She might not let it show, but the principal’s words hit her hard. Her biological father had just abandoned her, and she had no one to rely on. Whatever hope she had for them evaporated, leaving her empty feeling.
Who else did she have now? Until she remembered Sebastian.
Would he come to her aid if she called him? From their little time together, Adora had caused him so
much trouble, but still, she took out her phone and sent him a message.
In a moment like this, she badly needed some support and protection.

Not ten minutes had passed when the door to the principal’s office was kicked open. “Who dares touch my daughter?” A bald man with a big golden chain stormed in.
Adora’s heart thudded when she saw Vivienne’s father. Vivienne’s family was powerful, and her
father, Mr. Ashford, was a leader in the catering industry that had recently risen in the city.
“Dad, thank god you’re here. Look at what this bitch did to me!” Vivienne wailed, pointing to the wound on her body. “She suddenly came at me for no apparent reason.”
Mr. Ashford’s brows furrowed, his expression darkening. The fact that someone dared to beat his daughter made him angry and ashamed.
“My daughter doesn’t pick fights with people. I see no reason why she should be picked on. But I’m a cool–headed man, reasonable, Mr. Dear. What do you suggest we do here?” Mr.Ashford looked at the Dean threateningly. His eyes carried along his unvoiced threat.
“Calm down, Mr. Ashford. There’s no reason to get mad. I will dish out a just punishment to whoever
is at fault.” He turned to Adora.
