Between Sterling’s black sheep and the CEO of the Lynch Enterprise, everyone would choose Hilary over Sebastian.
The engagement banquet had already begun. Adora changed into her gown and walked into the hall. Sebastian stood on the stage and looked at her. The whole hall was surrounded by beautiful flowers, but only ten people attended the engagement ceremony.
Adora felt so sad, a woman only had an engagement banquet once in her life, and even her biological parents didn’t attend it.
“What a beauty you got there, boss.” A handsome man standing beside Sebastian on the stage whistled. “With half of your face covered in scars, weren’t you scared she might reject you? As handsome as I may be, I’m afraid not even I could get a wife as beautiful as that.” Max whispered with a laugh.
The previous MC of the party was too frightened to attend, so Sebastian invited a close friend of his, Maximilian, to fill in the role.
‘Shut up.” Sebastian glared at Max.
They might be friends, but Sebastian was also their Boss. And if there was anyone Max was afraid of, it was Sebastian. Especially when the guy got angry, he is the true definition of a demon.
With Max finally shutting his trap, Sebastian could finally concentrate on appreciating his fiancee. She was wearing a champagne–colored dress, moving like a fairy among flowers. It was a sight he wanted to cherish.
Adora slowly walked up to Sebastian, a little bit anxious at the attention, especially when he knelt on ɔne knee and took a red velvet box from his pocket.
Slowly Sebastian opened the box, revealing a delicate and dazzling pink diamond ring that gleamed n the light. He raised his hand and held the ring before Adora, tilting his head back to look at her. His deep blue eyes twinkled like stars in the light.
‘Adora Rockefeller, may I use the ring of devotion and declare you mine?”
Adora clenched her palms into fists, her mouth opening and closing hesitantly.

The tenderness in Sebastian’s eyes could easily fool anyone. His pair of beautiful eyes twinkling with stars only had her, as if he could no longer see anyone else.
Max standing by the side with a huge smile, stiffened at Adora’s hesitation.
“Ms. Adora, are you willing?” Max’s voice faltered, fearing what Adora might say next.
Sebastian’s brows frowned as seconds ticked, the scar on his right face looking even more ferocious.
“Umm… Sebastian, can I call you that?” Adora asked, biting her lips and keeping her gaze directly at
Sebastian.
“Originally, this engagement banquet should not have existed. I wanted to prove that I could still hold the engagement banquet without Hilary, so I dragged you in. But this…”
She looked around the hall at the few people looking at them, feeling guilty.
Even if Sebastian was not loved by his family, his engagement doesn’t deserve to be this cheerless
and barren. It was all her fault.
“We’ll be offending the Lynch family by doing this. I know you’re already having a hard time with your family. Have you really decided to facing all the challenges with me in the next?”
Adora said worriedly because she didn’t want to force and hurt Sebastian.

When Adora heard Sebastian’s answer, she felt his determination to share weal and woe in the rest life with her, she slowly stretched out her right hand.
Obviously the future is uncertain, but looking into Sebastian’s eyes, Adora’s heart will be at ease.
It reminded her of her grandma’s famous love quote;” The heart is capable of loving all sorts of people, but only the ones that made it at ease deserve to accompany it to olden age.”
The ring slipped right into Adora’s fingers with ease, officially declaring her as Sebastian Sterling’s
as if it was meant to be.

Max, who finally got a glimpse at the ring, had his mouth dropped in surprise.
The ring is ‘Devotion‘! Ten years ago, a pink diamond was found in Australia, and it had been cut, polished, set in a ring, and then named ‘Devotion‘, signifying the only true love.
It was rumored that when ‘Devotion‘ appeared, the magical pink diamond will bind two people who love each other firmly together.
But the ring had mysteriously disappeared as soon as it was made; how on earth did Sebastian get it?
Max loved traveling around and exploring cultures and was excited to witness this with his own
eyes.
“You have to seal it with a kiss. Kiss! Kiss!! Kiss!!” After being briefly surprised, he chanted like a three–year–old. The crowd wasn’t left behind either, and the hall soon echoed with their chants.
Sebastian looked at Adora expectantly, gauging her reaction.
Oh, hell no. Adora thought, subconsciously taking a step back. They might already be engaged, but she can’t help but feel intimidated whenever she is close to Sebastian. He had this overbearing aura surrounding him.
They barely knew each other. All they shared was drunken sex. She still needed some time to get
used to this.
“Can we do this when there are fewer people around? I’m not comfortable with the crowd looking and all that…” Adora said with a blush, and fearing he might mistake her reaction for disgust, she intertwined their fingers but couldn’t meet his gaze.
