Chapter 172 Ry, I Want To Be Your Wife
“Enough!” I snapped, pissed off, and shoved Summer hard.
She stumbled and hit the floor, looking completely wrecked.
Summer stared up at me, wide–eyed, like she couldn’t believe what just happened.
I stepped closer, clenching my jaw, “You set up those photos while I was drunk, didn’t you? God, Summer, that’s messed up.”
She flinched, but her eyes turned red, “Messed up? You pushed me to this! You never even looked at me–what was I supposed to do?”
I let out a cold laugh, my gaze sharp, “We broke off our engagement a long time ago. There’s nothing between us anymore. All you’re doing now is making me hate you even more.”
Summer slowly got to her feet, barely able to stand. Her eyes burned with rage as she screamed, “Why? Ryan, why are you treating me like this? Why are you so obsessed with Gabrielle? She’s just some washed–up housewife–what makes her so special to you? She’s not even in my league!”
Her voice rang through the private room, full of anger and jealousy.
“I’m the daughter of the Miller family. I’m the one your mother chose. I’ve been with you since we were kids! I’ve given you so much. Everyone knows I love you, and yet you spoil her and won’t even look at
me?”
I stayed silent, just staring at her, eyes cold as ice.
“What does she have that I don’t?” Summer yelled, tears welling up.
I gave a short, bitter laugh, “Everything. She’s kind. Honest. Gentle. Unlike you–you’ll do whatever it takes to get your way.”
That hit her hard. Suddenly, she looked up and started laughing–loud, broken laughter that didn’t sound right.
She kept laughing, then dropped into a chair, picked up a wine glass, and took a slow, exaggerated sip.
I narrowed my eyes, watching her carefully. Something felt off.
She set the glass down, propped her chin on her hand, and looked at me with a strange intensity, “Ryan,” she said, her voice slightly unhinged, “what do you think would happen if I told Gabrielle everything about her and Vincent?”
My heart tightened. I shot back coldly, “You really think she’d believe your lies?”
Summer’s smile deepened, “Maybe not. But what if I went to Vincent? Told him that the woman he loves has been living with you this whole time?”
My fists clenched, knuckles cracking.
She knew. And now she was using it against me?
“You really think that’s going to scare me?” I said through gritted teeth.
“I’m not trying to scare you,” Her red lips curled into a smile that made my skin crawl. “I just want to

see you lose control”
She stepped toward me and gently placed her hand on my chest. I immediately mecced back
frowning.
She laughed again–sharp and mocking. “You’re afraid, aren’t you? Mraid Gabrielle will find out youre actually her husband’s uncle. Afraid she’ll realize you’ve been lying to her all along How pathetic. The great Mr. Ryan Hudson, secretly in love with his nephew’s wife
I clenched my teeth, trying to stay calm.
Summer looked smug, eyes gleaming, “One word from me, and you’ll lose Gabrielle. You know that don’t you believe that?”
Suppressing my anger, I pulled out a chair and sat down, staring at her, “Enough Stop playing games What do you really want?”
I knew exactly what this was–those photos were her way of declaring war. Summer was the biggest threat now, and I needed to handle her–fast.
She paused, then gave me a slow, satisfied smile, “Smart man. That’s what I like about you.”
I stayed silent.
Her stare didn’t waver, growing more intense, “Ryan, what I want is simple.”
“I want to be with you. I want to be your wife.”
