Chapter 139 Toby’s Whereabouts
Finn spoke quickly. “Don’t worry, Vincent hasn’t found anything. Everyone you arranged is in position
I narrowed my eyes slightly, drumming my fingers against the desk as I considered Vincent’s
intentions.
There was no way Vincent would suddenly get suspicious of my movements without reason.
n way!
‘Had he sensed something? Or was he planning to come to Bellton himself?
The thought made my chest tighten.
If Vincent really came to Bellton, then it wouldn’t be long before Gabby’s situation was exposed.
Lowering my voice, I spoke seriously, “Finn, keep a close eye on Vincent. If he makes any moves- especially if he leads this way–I need to know immediately.”
Finn responded without hesitation, “Understood. I’ll monitor him closely.”
Then, after a brief pause, his voice dropped even lower, “There’s something else. It’s about Toby.”
A sharp tension colled in my chest, “Did you find anything?”
Finn exhaled heavily, “We confirmed that Brandon did throw Toby into the sea.”
My grip on the desk tightened, “Are you sure?”
“Positive. But-” Finn hesitated again, his tone growing graver. “The problem is, Brandon has been dead for a long time. We can’t exactly asked a dead man which part of the ocean Toby was thrown Into. And–with this much time gone. Even if we send people out to search now, it’s nearly impossible to find any clues.”
It was like searching for a needle in a haystack.
I closed my eyes, pressing my fingertips hard against my temples. My mind was spinning.
Toby–that child-
No one understood how much Gabby loved him more than I did.
She had been lost in confusion ever since waking up. If she ever regained her memories and leamed that the son she had fought so desperately to protect was gone-
What would she do?
Would it break her completely?
Would she–hate me?
A dry, burning sensation spread in my throat. Forcing the words out, I said, “No matter how impossible
it seems, we have to find Toby. Even if all we recover is his body–we bring him back.”
“Understood. I’ll do my best.” Finn’s voice carried the same heavy weight.
“And what about the investigation into Gabby’s kidnapping?” I pushed forward.
I couldn’t rest until I found that masked lunatic, or I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night.

“It’s strange.” Finn hesitated. “The masked man who kidnapped Ms. May is extremely well–hidden. We’ve been investigating for so long, but we still can’t uncover his true identity.”
I narrowed my eyes, a chill ran down my spine.
This wasn’t just an ordinary enemy–whoever was behind this was far more calculated than I expected.
Who was he? What did he want? And why was he targeting Gabby so relentlessly?
For now, all I could do was keep digging, “Stay on it. The moment you find anything, tell me.”
“Got it.”
As soon as the call ended, I let out a long breath.
One lie. Then another. And another.
At this point, there was no turning back.
I
I
But if I wanted to keep Gabby by my side, I had no choice but to keep deceiving her.
I could only take one step at a time.
Just then, my phone buzzed.
I glanced at the screen–it was a message from Gabby.
[Ryan, I have a surprise for you. Get ready for it!]
“A surprise?”
I raised an eyebrow, unable to stop a small smile from forming.
She always had a way of bringing light into my world.
I was still wondering what it could be when suddenly I heard a knock at the door.
Knock, knock-
I straightened, “Come in.”
The door swung open, and in the next second, a familiar figure burst into the room, moving like a whirlwind before throwing herself straight into my arms.
Gabby!
Instinctively, I caught her effortlessly, my hands findings her waist, tightening my hold.
Her soft hair brushed against my chin, carrying that familiar, faintly sweet scent of her body wash- light, comforting but intoxicating.
I looked down at her delicate face, unable to resist pressing a gentle kiss to her cheek. My voice dropped to a low, tender murmur, tinged with warmth.
“What are you doing here?”

“My desserts are amazing. You’re lucky to have me.”
Ryan led me over to his desk and had me sit down.
I picked up a piece of apple pie, holding it up for him to take.
But instead of grabbing it with his hands, he leaned in and took a bite directly from my fingers.
His lips brushed against my fingertips. In that instant, an unexpected jolt of electricity surged through my entire body, making my heart tremble violently.
I cast him a helpless yet shy glance, then picked up a glass of apple juice and said softly, “Try this
too.”
Ryan lifted the glass and took a slow sip.
Then–without any warning–he pushed me down against the desk, his hands firmly pressing against my upper body as his lips crashed onto mine.
The unexpected kiss made my body freeze instantly, my mind completely blank.
The lingering sweetness of the apple juice mixed with his breath, spread across my mouth. His lips. were hot, demanding–giving me no time to react.
His hand cradled the back of my neck, deepening the kiss. His tongue slipped in, teasing and controlling, leaving me utterly defenseless.
The cold surface of the desk seeped through my clothes, sending a shiver down my spine. I Instinctively tried to pull away, but his grip was just firm enough to keep me in place–not too forceful, but impossible to escape.
My breathing grew ragged. A trail of apple juice dripped from the corner of my lips, sliding down toward my neck.
The sticky sensation made me uncomfortable, and I instinctively tried to push him away. But before I could wipe it away, he gently caught my wrist, his fingertips stroking my palm in a slow, coaxing
motion.
s warm breath sent
His kisses trailed from my lips down to my jawline, finally stopping at my neck. His another shiver through me.
But he wasn’t done. As he kissed me deeply, he licked away the stray droplets of juice, his tongue tracing the path of the liquid.
A wave of panic surged through me. I pressed my hands against his chest, my voice shaky. “Ryan–this is your office-”
I meant it as a warning, but my voice came out breathy and weak, laced with soft gasps.
It sounded less like a protest and more like an invitation.
His relentless kisses left me breathless, my body growing hotter by the second. A familiar dampness spread between my thighs, my sensitivity heightening under his touch
Ryan let out a low chuckle, his voice was husky and dangerously smooth.
