Chapter 126 Sleeping With Him Seems Only Natural

I nearly choked on my drink, coughing as I shot Ryan an exasperated look, “You really love pushing your luck, don’t you? Back in college, everyone thought you were cold and unapproachable, but now- that’s definitely not the case.”
Who would’ve thought that the once–distant, aloof campus heartthrob could be this effortlessly
flirtatious?
Ryan smirked, clearly entertained by my remark, a teasing lift in his voice, “Sounds like I need to work on my reputation. Wouldn’t want my wife to start complaining about me.”
There it was again! He never missed a chance to emphasize that I was his wife. Every time, it caught me off guard–making my heart race before I could even stop it.
1 quickly averted my gaze, pointing at the spread of food on the table, “Let’s eat before everything gets cold.”
Thankfully, he let the teasing go, quickly serving me all my favorite dishes one by one.

As I looked at the beautifully arranged meal, I couldn’t help but ask, “How do you know exactly what I
like?”
Ryan’s expression turned smug, his tone filled with confidence, “A good husband should know his wife’s likes and dislikes, shouldn’t he?”
‘Seriously? How did he always manage to steer the conversation back to “husband” and “wife“? Was he worried I’d forget we were married or something?”
as Ryan
Throughout dinner, we occasionally clinked glasses. I watched drank more than a few cocktails and couldn’t help but warm him, “Don’t underestimate that drink. The alcohol content isn’t high, but keep going like this, you’ll be drunk before you know it.”
Ryan chuckled, his eyes shimmering with a rare lightness, “I’m in a good mood today. A few drinks
won’t hurt.”
“What’s got you so happy?” I asked casually.
Before I knew it, he reached out and wrapped an arm around my waist, pulling me closer in one swift
motion.
Ryan gazed at me intently, his voice impossibly soft, “Because you’re here with me.”
My heart skipped a beat. ‘Again?”
I couldn’t help but tease, “Why does it feel like you’re always on the verge of confessing your love to me?”
Ryan’s lips curled into a smirk, but his expression gradually turned serious. “And if I really did confess- would you listen?”
For a second, my minded.
Then, before I could react, he leaned in–slowly, deliberately.

My heart pounded wildly in my chest, completely caught off guard Instinctively, I reached out and pressed my palm firmly against his lips, stopping him in his tracks.
“Stop messing around! I blurted, turning my face away, my pulse racing uncontrollably.
Ryan froze for a split second before laughing, his eyes twinkling with an amusement as he studied me, a mix of cunosity and mischief dancing in his gaze.
I took a deep breath, trying to steady myself, but my thoughts were all over the place. If he really did confess, could I even handle it? Wouldn’t I be completely swept away?
Logically, my mind was still stuck in our college days. As far as I remembered, Ryan and I weren’t even that close back then. So why is it that every time I’m alone with him, my heart races out of control?
I must be losing my mind.
Ryan took my hand in his, lowering his head to press a soft kiss against my fingertips, “Alright, I won’t tease you anymore–wouldn’t want to scare you off by moving too fast.”
I shot him a glare. ‘Oh, so he knows he’s coming on too strong?”
But as my thoughts drifted back to our earlier kiss, my cheeks grew warm again.
We kissed so quickly-
Then, another thought hit me. From his perspective, I’m his wife.
If kissing is natural–then making love would be just as reasonable, wouldn’t it?
