Chapter 14
With this much proof, I could make sure Michael walked away with nothing.
I contacted one of the best divorce attorneys in the business.
Years ago, back when he was just starting out, I had helped him out.
In fact, I was the reason he still had his job back then.
And over the years, I’d thrown plenty of work his way.
When I laid out the situation, he didn’t hesitate.
Not only did he agree to take the case, he even gave me some advice.
Once everything was in place, I headed straight for the Johnson family estate.
Michael’s mother had never liked me.
But honestly, who cared anymore?
I tossed the photos and divorce papers onto the table.
Her glare was as sharp as ever.
“Sarah, just say what you want.”
She didn’t believe I actually wanted a divorce.
To her, I was just looking for a bigger payout.
“Mrs. Johnson, I think you misunderstand.”
“I’m not here to negotiate.”
“I’m divorcing Michael. Period.”
“Whatever happens to him after that is none of my concern.”

Chapter 14
I left the evidence behind and walked out, ignoring the way her face drained of color.
Then, I took my daughter and left for good.
Once I was back, I picked up where I left off–back to the career I had abandoned for marriage.
I launched a media company.
With the connections and experience I’d built up over the years, it took off fast.
Projects piled in.
The business grew bigger and bigger.
At the same time, I was more than ready to take Michael to court.
