Chapter 115 I Deceived Gabby
Ryan
Gabby’s question made my heart skip a beat.
Her intuition was sharper than I expected.
I clenched my fists subtly, forcing myself to stay calm.

I knew she must have had a million questions by now. Even though
she had lost her memory, she was still the same smart, perceptive woman. It was only a matter of time before she realized something
was off.
But I couldn’t tell her the truth. Not yet.
The person I had just spoken to on the phone was Vincent.
For now, we were keeping my father in the dark about Gabby’s
kidnapping and about her fall into the sea.
Vincent had called to tell me that my father’s health was improving,
but he kept pressing for updates.
“Uncle Ryan, have you found Gabby? Where is she?”
“Grandpa really wants to see her, but I still haven’t found her. What
should I do?”
Out of every ten sentences Vincent spoke, eight were about Gabby.

He was still searching for her all over the world. ‘But was it really
because he truly cared?‘
The night she fell into the sea, he was the one who chose Claire. He
watched Gabby go overboard and did nothing.
If I hadn’t risked my life to save her, she would have died.
Anger burned through me at the thought.
I didn’t want Gabby to go back to Vincent. Hell, I didn’t even want her
to remember him.
After careful consideration, I finally met her eyes, keeping my voice as
steady as possible, “That was my family calling.”
“Gabby, of course, you know them. But in the past—you weren’t exactly
close.”
Gabby frowned slightly, confusion flashing in her eyes, “I’m your wife.
How could I not be close to your family?”
I forced my emotions down and answered smoothly, “After we got
married, we lived in Bellton most of the time. You only visited the
Hudson family home in Harborbrook a few times.”
“So, you didn’t have much interaction with them.”
Gabby hesitated, as if something didn’t quite sit right, but in the end, she just gave a small nod.
She looked at me with complete trust, “I believe you.”

“You’re the only person I can trust right now.”
My chest tightened.

She trusted me. Even with her memories gone, she still believed in me.
And that shattered me inside.
Gabby trusted me blindly, and yet I was lying to her–Even though I told myself it was for her own good, to protect her from Vincent. But that
didn’t change the fact that I was deceiving her.
And deep down, I had to admit–I was being selfish. I wanted to keep
her by my side-
But one day, the truth would come out.
When that day came-
I pushed the thought away and gently pulled her into my arms, holding
her close.
Silently, I prayed in my heart.
‘Gabby, when you remember everything one day, I just hope that you
won’t hate me.‘
I looked down at Gabby, she felt so small against me, so fragile.
When I first brought Gabby to Bellton, I only planned for her to rest and
recover.

But I never expected that the accident would cause her to lose her
memory! Her memory was frozen in time–stuck in her university
years.
Strangely, she had known Vincent back then. Back now–she didn’t
remember him at all.
Maybe it was because he hurt her too much.
Her brain had blocked out the pain, erasing everything.
She didn’t even remember that she had once loved him.
Maybe that was for the best.
Once I realized she had lost her memory, I made sure not to mention
him.
I didn’t want her to remember him–In fact, sometimes, I even wished
she never would.
If her memories never came back, she’d stay here, with me.
She wouldn’t remember the man who shattered her heart. She
wouldn’t be haunted by the painful past again.
I made sure everyone around us followed the same story.
I told her that we had been deeply in love for years–to make her
believe it.
I even told her that her mother and sister had passed away. But in

I just didn’t want her to go back to the people who had shattered her
heart.
As for Toby–I was still searching for him.
No matter what, I would find him–dead or alive!
At this moment, Gabby sat quietly beside me, her expression pure and
unguarded, like a little rabbit unaware of the dangers around her.
A faint smile tugged at my lips as a memory surfaced–our first
meeting, all those years ago.
Back then, she had been an innocent girl–naive, like a dewdrop
clinging to a leaf at dawn.
I made a silent vow. ‘Gabby, I won’t let you get hurt again. No matter
what happens, this time, I will stand by your side!‘
