Chapter 100 Ryan Followed And Jumped Into The
Sea
The seawater swallowed all my senses. Before I lost conciousness,
the only thing I heard was a muffled splash–someone had jumped in
after me.
Then, through the haze, a familiar voice rang out:
“Gabrielle!”
It was really Ryan! It was him!
But I was too weak to open my eyes.
I was too tired. My body felt impossibly heavy, as if some invisible
force was dragging me into the abyss.
Was this it? Was my short and absurd life ending like this?
My eyelids grew heavier. As my heartbeat gradually slowed, I
surrendered to endless darkness.
Vincent’s POV:
I watched as Gabby fell into the sea. I didn’t even notice when Claire
was brought to my side or when the kidnapper left on the cruise ship.
Everything blurred, the world around me collapsing in an instant.
The moment she fell, it felt like something inside me had been torn

A searing pain shot through my chest, making it impossible to
breathe. My heart pounded, my mungs burned, and regret slammed
into me like a tidal wave.
Almost the second she hit the water, I regretted it.
Oh God, what had I done? I had chosen Claire and abandoned the
woman who stood by my side for so many years.
If Gabby died because of me, I’d never be able to forgive myself.
Claire threw herself into my arms.
Tears streamed down her face as she sobbed hoarsely, “I was so
scared, Vince–I was so scared-”
But at that moment, I had no mind to comfort her. Her cries became
nothing but distant noise.
My mind was flooded with memories of Gabby—her smiling at me, the
way she comforted Toby to sleep, cooking for me and Toby, saying
that as long as she was with me, she would always feel happy–Every image, every memory, tore at me with unbearable pain.
I shoved Claire aside and rushed toward the water’s edge. There was
only one thought in my mind–I had to save her, to bring her back.
Just as I was about to dive in, Claire clung to me again.
She grabbed my arm, her eyes red with tears. “Vince, my stomach

That was when I snapped back to reality.

Claire’s pregnancy had always been unstable. After everything she had
endured, there was a real risk of miscarriage.
I hesitated–should I save Gabby first, or should I take Claire to the
hospital?
But in that split second of hesitation, I saw Ryan.
I had no idea when he had arrived.
The moment Ryan saw me, his face was filled with rage. He stromed
toward me, his voice sharp as ice, capable of freezing a person to
death.
“Where is Gabrielle?”
My stomach twisted painfully. My gaze darted back to the sea, to the churning waves that had swallowed her whole.
Ryan must have understood immediately, because before I could
react, he threw himself into the water without hesitation.
I didn’t even have time to call out to him before he vanished into the
raging waves.
A bitter, suffocating weight settled over me–my uncle had jumped
into the sea without a second thought to save my wife, yet I had
hesitated.

What was I hesitating for?
Because of Claire’s baby?

Yes, that had to be. I clung desperately to this excuse, trying to
convince myself.
I had already lost Toby–I couldn’t afford to lose the child Claire and I
were expecting-
Meanwhile, Ryan swam tirelessly, shouting Gabby’s name over and over again, his voice raw with desperation.
But the sea devoured his cries.
He dove under again and again, each time emerging breathless, calling out to Gabrielle once more.
Risking his own life. Refusing to give up. Determined to bring Gabrielle
back.
