Chapter 12
Louie collapsed dejectedly onto the sofa.
Had Celia really made up her mind to not let him find her?
So, her leaving was premeditated, not a spur–of–the–moment decision.
He suddenly stood up and rushed to their room.
It was empty.
The entire villa, all traces of Celia had been erased.
Aside from the various gifts he had given Celia and her clothes, even his own wardrobe was empty.
He called the housekeeper and glared at her fiercely.
“Where are my wife’s things? Where are my things?”
The housekeeper trembled in fear. “It was Madam… She said she was cleaning out the wardrobe… Everything… everything was burned.”
Louie’s head buzzed as he staggered back a few steps.
He grabbed the housekeeper by the collar and scolded her.
“Bullshit! Celia loved me so much, how could she do this?!”
The housekeeper trembled, “It really was Madam… She even burned the rose garden you planted for her in the backyard…”
Louie’s pupils contracted sharply, and he released his grip, running to the backyard.
He stared at the sight before him, feeling as if something was stuck in his throat.
The roses that were once in full bloom were now reduced to charred earth.
This rose garden was something he had personally planted on the day they got their marriage

certificate.
Back then, as he held her hand, he confessed his love deeply, “My love for you is like these roses, always blooming, passionate and burning.”
Celia had treasured this rose garden. She spent a lot of time every day watering, fertilizing, and trimming it.
There were always fresh roses at the head of their bed.
But now, the roses were gone.
Had she really abandoned him?
Louie’s voice was hoarse and trembling.
“Celia, don’t scare me, please come back!”
But no matter how much he shouted until his voice cracked, no one responded.
Suddenly, he thought–had Celia left so decisively because she knew something?
A terrifying thought kept circling in his mind.
He tightened his breath, turned to his assistant.
“Go check that broken marriage certificate and see if Celia discovered anything.”
Just as he finished speaking, his phone started vibrating.
Louie didn’t even glance at the caller ID and quickly picked it up.
“Celia, is it you?”
But it was Thalia.
“Louie, Jenna has a fever, you need to come to the hospital quickly.”
Louie’s face darkened, his mind full of Celia, and he had no intention of dealing with Thalia and her daughter.

“I’m busy. Just take her to the doctor. What do you want from me?”
He quickly hung up the phone.
The assistant had already found out.
“Mr. Morris, I found out that Madam went to the County Clerk’s Office to reissue the marriage
certificate…”
Louie’s mind exploded again. “What? Why didn’t you find out earlier?”
