Chapter 93 Could We Become A Couple?
What I really wanted to say was: Isn’t this a little inappropriate?
But after hesitating for a long time, I just couldn’t bring myself to say it.

Ryan raised an eyebrow, amusement flickering in his eyes. He asked slowly, “Do you think–this is wrong?”
I froze for a moment, then averted my gaze slightly and muttered, “You’re Vincent’s uncle, and I’m about to be his ex–wife–We can only be friends, not-”
I deliberately trailed off, unwilling to say the word that would make the atmosphere even more
awkward.
But before I could finish, Ryan smiled and said it for me.
“A couple?“My breath hitched.
Hearing that word come from his mouth–laced with an indescribable ambiguity–made my heart skip
a beat.
I let out a light chuckle, tugging at the corner of my lips to mask my nervousness, “No need to be so blunt, right?”
Ryan held my gaze, his eyes deep and unreadable. “That depends on you.”
I blinked, “What?”

“If you don’t want it, no one can force you.”
There was something deeper in his words, something that made me overthink.
Was he saying that–if I was willing, we could be a couple?
The thought alone made my face heat up, and my heart racing.
No way! I’m reading too much into this!
I quickly patted my cheeks, forcing myself to focus. My priority right now was finding Toby- Everything else could wait.
“We should get moving.” I cut the conversation and headed straight toward Starlight Bay.
The area was remote, nearly deserted. All I could see was the endless ocean and a few scattered
houses.
The salty breeze was cool against my skin, but the silence made me uneasy.
Frowning, I asked, “Have you checked the surveillance cameras?”
Ryan stood by the shore, staring into the distance, “Still working on it. We should have results soon.”
I nodded, thinking for a moment before suggesting, “Why don’t we split up? You can search the beach for clues, and I’ll ask around with Brandon and Toby’s photos.”
“Though there aren’t many people here, someone might have seen them.”

Ryan didn’t look thrilled. “You’re going alone?”
“I’ll be fine.” I met his eyes, my tone firm. “We’ll cover more ground this way. I just want to find a lead as soon as possible.”
His lips pressed into a thin line, like he wanted to argue. But after a moment, he sighed. “Alright, but call me the second anything feels off. Don’t take any risks”
I nodded, and we went our separate ways.
He headed right. I went left.
Following a gravel path, I walked up to a small white house and knocked. “Hello, have you seen these two?” I asked, holding up the photos.
The owner barely glanced at them before shaking his head. “No.”
I kept my expression polite and moved on.
Four or five houses later, I was getting the same answer every time.
No one had seen Brandon or Toby.
My heart gradually sank, but I refused to lose hope.
I looked at Toby’s picture and clenched my fists.
I can’t give up. I have to find Toby!
Taking a deep breath, I approached the next house.
Just as I raised my hand to knock, I heard faint footsteps behind me.
My stomach dropped.
It felt like–someone was following me-
