Chapter 34 Your Body Can Only Belong To Me
I thought the slap would snap Vincent out of it and stop his crazy
behavior.

But instead, he didn’t even flinch. He just yanked open my collar with
one hand.
Half of my shoulder was exposed, and I could feel my breast showing.
Humiliated and furious, I scratched and hit at Vincent, desperately
trying to push him away. Only then did he pause, gripping my wrists
tightly.
“Are you out of your mind?” I cursed angrily. “What gives you the right
to humiliate me like this?”
“Gabby, I just wanted to check your body,” he said, looking at my neck and chest. “To see if Ryan left any marks.”
“Vincent, you’re disgusting!” I was burning with rage, my chest heaving
with anger at the thought of him thinking so lowly of me and my
relationship with Ryan.
“Looks like he hasn’t touched you,” Vincent muttered, one hand still
holding my wrist, while the other brushed across my chest.
I recoiled, trying to dodge his touch, “Our relationship isn’t as messed
up as you think!”
He withdrew his hand, leaning in close to my ear, his voice dropping to

a whisper, “Is that so? If there’s nothing between you, why would he
risk his life to save you? Why help you get those documents?”
I froze, caught off guard by his questions. I didn’t have an answer.
Even I couldn’t understand why Ryan did what he did.
“I don’t know,” I bit my lip. “But Ryan and I are just friends. I’ve got a
clear conscience. Even if there was something, you don’t get to
question me!” I shot back, my voice cold, “You were the one who was
unfaithful to our marriage. You’re the one who betrayed me.”
Vincent’s face gradually darkened as if I’d hit a nerve.
I used the moment to break free from his grip and straighten my
clothes. Thinking about what just happened made my blood boil all
over again.
“Gabby, we’re not divorced yet,” Vincent said, his eyes scanning me up
and down. “Right now, you’re still my wife. Your body belongs to me.”
I couldn’t help but laugh at his ridiculous statement.
How interesting men are–can they really feel so possessive when they don’t even love the woman? He could have his complicated mess
with Claire, but I should only belong to him? How absurd and
hypocritical!
“I don’t belong to anyone. I am who I am, and I belong to myself,” I
said, staring at him coldly. “Vincent, don’t push me to hate you.”
I would never forget what he did today. I should’ve realized earlier–he

never saw me as his wife, never truly respected me.
Vincent swallowed hard, his eyes flickering over me
Just as he opened his mouth to speak, his phone rang.
“Luke, what’s up?” Vincent answered quickly.

stopped when I heard him gasp, “A car accident?” His voice was filled
with shock.
I froze in place.
Vincent’s face changed instantly–he was clearly panicked.
‘It had to be Claire, right? She had been in some kind of accident.‘ The
more I thought about it, the more it pissed me off.
He couldn’t let me go, yet here he was, caring so much about Claire.
Can a man really love two women at once?
“Where is she? I’m coming now,” Vincent ended the call, voice urgent.
I just kept walking.
He caught up with me, looking conflicted, “Gabby, something came
- up. Should I have someone drive you home?”
“No thanks, I’ll grab a cab,” I said firmly. “Go on, Mr. Hudson. If you’re
any later, your precious Clair will be upset.”
He frowned, threw me one last look, and hurried off without another
word.
I watched him go, fists clenched. ‘Yeah, only Claire could make him
act like this.‘ I managed a bitter smile as I thought. Since I was already
at this hospital, I might as well visit Ryan.
I picked up some fruit and supplements from a nearby shop before
heading to the inpatient ward.
But as I walked by one hospital room, something caught my eye.
Inside were two people I knew all too well…
