Vincent used his full strength–with the natural difference in strength between men and women, there was no way I could break free, no matter how hard I tried.
He held me down firmly, his warm lips pressing against mine. As soon as our lips touched, he became aggressive, trying to force my mouth open to deepen the kiss.
This was insane! ‘We were about to get divorced–what the hell was he doing?”
Furious, I stomped hard on his foot, but he didn’t even flinch, continuing with the kiss.
I kept my teeth clenched, but I was losing the fight. Angry tears started to well up in my eyes. Then, an idea hit me. I turned my head away, and just before he could kiss me again, I coldly said, “What would Claire think about this?”
He froze.
I took the chance to mock h im, “Your affair with her is all over internet. What you should be doing is divorcing me and marrying her, or she’ll be labeled the other woman, and her career will tank. You care about her so much–can you really let her suffer like that?”
Vincent was silent, his emotions churning in his eyes.
I knew I’d hit a nerve. I couldn’t help but laugh bitterly, “Vincent, aren’t you disgusted with yourself? One minute before you were all lovey–dovey with Claire, the next you’re here, forcing kisses on me.”
“We live in a monogamous society–what, you want both of us? Do you think Claire would want to be your secret mistress?” I kept pressing.
After a beat, Vincent said hoarsely, “My relationship with her isn’t what you think.”
“Tsk.” I clicked my tongue in disgust.
With all that evidence, he still wouldn’t own up to it? Did he think I’d just believe him because he said it
wasn’t true?
I wasn’t the same Gabby who used to love him blindly anymore.
“Vincent, don’t make me lose what little respect I have left for you.” I sneered, shooting him a cold glance before heading toward the door to pack my things.
This time, he didn’t follow me.
I went back to our bedroom and rubbed my lips over and over.
I could still taste Vincent on my lips–What was he playing at? In the past, when I tried to make a move, he barely cared. Now that I was pulling away, he wouldn’t let me go.
Staring at the familiar room and our wedding photo on the wall, a lump rose in my throat.
This room was filled with memories–memories that followed me like shadows, never letting me go.
Every time I thought of them, my heart felt like it was being squeezed with pain.
I called the maid in and asked her to take down that wedding photo.
The maid hesitated, “Ma’am, are you sure?”

“Yes.” I nodded.

The maid glanced at the doorway–Vincent had appeared there at some point, his eyes cold and the atmosphere around him tense.
“Mr. Hudson- she seemed to be looking for his approval.
“Do as she says,” Vincent replied stiffly.
The maid didn’t say anything else and quickly removed the photo, taking it away.
I started slowly erasing every traces of Vincent and me, while he watched from the doorway, his expression unreadable.
I’d lived in this room for so long, and only when packing did I realize just how much stuff I had.
I decided to take only important documents and the things I really liked, leaving everything else behind to be thrown out.
After sorting through it all, the things I needed barely filled a suitcase.
As I walked past Vincent with my suitcase, he suddenly grabbed my right wrist. I frowned, seeing the fury in his eyes.
“Gabby, are you really going to walk out that door? This is a point of no return–you’ll regret this!” he hissed through gritted teeth.
