Chapter 8. Unexpected Pregnancy
“I… I’m really so happy… I never thought I could have a wolf cub… Rishima was so surprised she didn’t know what to do, pacing back and forth in the doctor’s office.
But quickly, she thought of something else, hastily asking, “Doctor, no, this can’t be right. My uterus is damaged, how can I be pregnant? Is this a false pregnancy?”
Upon hearing her question, the female wolf doctor seriously looked at Rishima’s colored ultrasound paper. “There’s nothing wrong with your uterus, who told you it was damaged?”
Who said that?
Of course, it was the private doctor of the Silverfang pack who told her that.
In addition, there was a medical room next to the Silverfang pack’s old mansion, equipped with simple diagnostic devices like a blood pressure monitor, a blood test machine, a urine test machine, and a color ultrasound machine… So she could even undergo tests at home.
Every time Rishima had her uterus checked, it was done at the Silverfang pack, and the results were given to the private doctor for review. She had never doubted his words.
But now… Rishima’s gaze stopped on the test results, and in that moment, she understood something clearly: The private doctor of the Silverfang pack had been deceiving her all along!
No matter why the Silverfang pack’s private doctor wanted to deceive her–whether it was out of coercion, dislike, or some other reason it no longer mattered to Rishima.
What mattered now was that she would no longer be alone. Soon, two little angels would be by her side, something she had always dreamed of.
After leaving the hospital, Rishima felt incredibly lighthearted, as though the gloom of the broken bond had completely lifted. Her smoky eyes finally had a spark of brightness, and she even felt a little less resentment toward Zvonimir.
Whether much or little, Zvonimir did play a part in the arrival of the two wolf cubs. However, despite that, Rishima had no intention of telling him about her pregnancy.
Not only would she not tell him, but she also had to keep it absolutely secret. She could not allow the Silverfang pack to find out. Otherwise, she feared that the moment the wolf cubs were born, the elder wolves of the Silverfang pack would take them away.
Rishima was so overjoyed that she looked at the ultrasound image of the babies over a dozen times. However, at just two months along, the babies still resembled nothing more than two tiny beans.
On her way home, Rishima drove extremely carefully. Her car moved slowly, and whenever she hit a bumpy patch of road, she slowed down even more, worried about the impact on the babies inside her womb.
For now, she was living in a modest apartment complex in the western part of the Empire, and it was a rental. When she broke the mating bond with Zvonimir, she didn’t want to take anything from him; she only wished to reclaim her belongings from before they were mated, even if it meant starting over from nothing.
However, before getting mated, she had just started out as a jewelry designer. In order to create more beautiful pieces, she had invested all her savings into purchasing jewelry materials, which she then handcrafted herself.
The most valuable asset she had now was probably her car, worth or half a million dollars.
When she reached the bottom floor of her apartment building, Rishia noticed a black Lamborghini with a familiar license plate

parked not far away.
It was Zvonimir’s car.
Zvonimir owned more than twenty cars. Some were sports cars that he liked to rotate, others were limited editions worth tens of millions, and a few had been gifted by wolves trying to win his favor
For example, the BMW he had driven on the day their bond was severed had now been swapped out for this one.
Rishima had no idea why Zvonimir was here today, and she didn’t want to know. Finally, she decisively pretended not to see his car, got out of her vehicle, and walked straight into the apartment building.
Unexpectedly, Zvonimir’s secretary quickly approached her, stopping her and calling out, “Miss Rishima Watson,” before handing her an exquisite invitation card.
“What is this about?” Rishima asked, puzzled.
“Mr. Ashcroft and Miss Thorne are holding their mate–bonding ceremony on the 5th of next month. They would especially like to invite you to attend,” Lucas, the secretary, said.
Holding the invitation in her hand, Rishima didn’t know what to do, feeling a flood of indescribable emotions. She couldn’t believe that barely half a month after their bond was severed, Zvonimir had sent her the mate–bonding ceremony invitation for him and his
lover.
Was he trying to flaunt it? Or was this his way of humiliating her?
Rishima let out a mocking laugh. She didn’t even bother to look at what was written on the invitation card, tossing it directly into the trash before turning to Lucas, her secretary. “Please tell Zvonimir I’m not free to attend his mate–bonding ceremony.”
Secretary Lucas hesitated. “Ms. Rishima Watson…”
Rishima turned and walked away.
“Stop right there!” A loud voice from behind barked.
Rishima, of course, acted like she hadn’t heard anything and quickly stepped into the elevator.
Just as the doors were about to close, a strong arm suddenly shot through, followed by Zvonimir’s dark, brooding face. The spacious elevator now felt much more cramped.
With his tall, imposing figure dressed in a black suit, his handsome face cold as ice, his mere presence was enough to intimidate any wolf.
‘Get out,” Zvonimir commanded the other wolf standing in the elevator.
Seeing Zvonimir’s chilling gaze and the overwhelming air of authority that screamed ‘don’t mess with me,” the wolf quickly scurried
out.
Immediately, it was just Zvonimir and Rishima inside.
Zvonimir said nothing, his fierce eyes locked on Rishima like a predator stalking its prey, slowly closing the distance between them. The once quiet air in the elevator now felt suffocating.
Rishima instantly sensed the dangerous aura surrounding her. She frowned and stepped back, but quickly found herself cornered. Finally, she couldn’t hold back and asked, “Zvonimit, what do you want?”

Zvonimir gripped Rishima’s chin with one hand, his sharp gaze sweeping from her delicate eyes to her red, full lips.
The elevator doors slowly closed, sealing them in a confined space.
